December 18, 200421 yr Totally agree, but I don't see how KW is going to change this to the small ball vision until they move the walls back. Just because the Sox will be manufacturing runs, doesn't mean opposing teams won't be tatooing the seats on a regular basis. I do this deal if it's PK and Marte [pen looks strong with or without him] for Vazquez, but I wish they'd knock the phony wall down and give a few extra feet to the revamped outfield/pitching staff. Welcome And you're right, if our power is scaled down, the walls need to go back.
December 18, 200421 yr Hofman, is now talking about AJ, said Sox are interested. You idiot, it's Offman. What's the matter with you?
December 18, 200421 yr It wouldn't surprise me if Choi came as part of the deal. I hope not, he's abysmal versus lefties.
December 18, 200421 yr It wouldn't surprise me if Choi came as part of the deal. great, now he can be traded to three teams within the last year, and fail in 4 places!!!!! However, Crede and Choi can have a "longest, loopiest swing contest" But good pick-up... I totally agree that he can be a part of this!
December 18, 200421 yr If we lose: Carlos Lee, Paul Konerko And gain: Jermaine Dye, Dustin Hermanson, Scott Podsednik, Luis Vizcaino, Javier Vazquez, AJ Pierzynski, decent FA infield Then this offseason is successful. (If you agree with the whole small-ball thing, of course) We also lost Magglio Ordonez, and Frank Thomas is going to be a huge question mark as to when he'll be ready to play, and at what level he'll be able to play. I don't know of many teams that have lost that much firepower in one offseason and still have been successful.
December 18, 200421 yr You idiot, it's Offman. What's the matter with you? Maybe he just figured Offman is wrong so much that even he wouldn't know how to correctly spell his name
December 18, 200421 yr You idiot, it's Offman. What's the matter with you? Actually, it's spelled OFMAN
December 18, 200421 yr Trading Konerko to upgrade from Garland to Vazquez doesn't make any sense unless someone is picking up a substantial portion of Vazquez's salary. Vazquez is better than Garland but this is too much.

I don't know of many teams that have lost that much firepower in one offseason and still have been successful. we losing firepower, but its not the same as were trying to replace the power hitters with less talented power hitters.... were losing power by choice, because were trying to build a team built on the concept that they can score on a more consistent basis. were losing what you call fire power but were gaining speed and defense.... which is just another type of firepower.

Good post Murcie.
December 18, 200421 yr Actually, it's spelled OFMAN You are right, it is Ofman, quickman is still nuts though. Man, this rumor is getting lots of chatter on the radio.
December 18, 200421 yr Kenny gets to have it exactly the way he wants. He saves even more money, he gets to say he upgraded the rotation (even though it will be BS), and he makes room for his boy Grilli to put up an 8 ERA and break the 20 loss record. I wish I could put that in green but it's true

December 18, 200421 yr I hope the Sox sign Steve Kline if they trade marte... Still have my fingers cross that we will be signing AJ in the next few days.. How about signing Tino Martinez if Korenko is traded
December 18, 200421 yr I hope the Sox sign Steve Kline if they trade marte... Still have my fingers cross that we will be signing AJ in the next few days.. How about signing Tino Martinez if Korenko is traded Rather give the job to Gload, Ross can produce as a starter.......

How about signing Tino Martinez if Korenko is traded yeah, that's not a bad name to throw out there, left handed, and of course he would come CHEAP!!!
December 18, 200421 yr We would probably do this without giving up Garland. Have you seen this reported? B/c I don't see why LA would do this without getting Garland, they really could use a starter.
December 18, 200421 yr going along with the whitesox current trend of trying to offer alternatives that BIG money to players.... Chicago = biggest polish population in U.S. right? A.J. Pierzynski = polish open your mind quade....open your mind!

Levine is saying the Vazquez deal is not happening, will be on at 10:20
