December 22, 200421 yr WSCR is saying it's a done deal on their updates.... incentives after 100 innings, taking physical right now... Sox showing interest in Eck
December 22, 200421 yr Evander Holyfield: "STEINER! Come on out Charlie ... take your whoopin' Steiner!" (Steiner hiding under desk at ESPN studios) Him laughing at the Carl Lewis National Anthem tape is some of the funniest s*** I've ever seen, he completely lost it
December 22, 200421 yr Evander Holyfield: "STEINER! Come on out Charlie ... take your whoopin' Steiner!" (Steiner hiding under desk at ESPN studios) are you behind on your email again. hit the refresh button.
December 22, 200421 yr nope its not Offman. he references "his guy" on deals. they are usually right on. its somebody in the industry. Steff?
December 22, 200421 yr Evander Holyfield: "STEINER! Come on out Charlie ... take your whoopin' Steiner!" (Steiner hiding under desk at ESPN studios) I'll nevewr forget Steiner getting so tickled about Carl Lewis butchering The Star Spangled Banner that he couldn't talk. He did spit something out about Francis Scott off-Key.
December 22, 200421 yr I was listening to Moronotti this morning and I stopped and thought... Is this a good show today? Yes. Debates, not getting along well on anything? It doesn't matter, Weiner has a field day with people who want to hear Mariotti. Heard the segment about Wrigley field and US Cellular Field, and I'll have to tell you that I'd agree with majority of what was said. Though I would say play at Miller Park, they bring up valid points and arguments. This is what good radio stations do, and they aren't wscr (aka worlds scrappiest choke radio industry)...I like ESPN Radio 1000 better...who can beat MJH and Mariotti in the mornings? Cute bit in the show where Levine said to Jay "At least I'm not working on Christmas" and Jay replies "Hey, I wasn't sure if that was in the deal buddy."
December 22, 200421 yr Hit this I think they should offer the season ticket holders there own seats when they take out the blue ones. I think that would be very classy. knowing I probably have paid for those seats several times over.
December 22, 200421 yr My favorite radio quote from yesterday and I think it was from Bruce Levine was how do you say Kyle Farnsworth in spanish. Jorge Julio. That was in response to the cubs need to trade for Julio.

You do know those two owners travel in parallel universes, do you not?

You know Ross, I disagree I would want them at the cell. My thinking. The cubs have alot of casual fans. bring them to the southside. Let them come to the park, see what it offers. bring the kids, spend money get to know the area. I think this may bring back many fans and kids to our own games. They walk in the park and see Sox stuff, they see parking lots, they get to tailgate, they get to know the area. By the way it won't happen because its all speculation.
December 22, 200421 yr Spammers! Aren't you two supposed to be working? I get 8 weeks vacation, jim is always on vacation.

Though you are correct on your economics of the ball park.
December 22, 200421 yr I get 8 weeks vacation, jim is always on vacation. You're confusing "vacation" with "procreation".
December 22, 200421 yr I get 8 weeks vacation, jim is always on vacation. 8 weeks? Are you kidding me? Well we all know how hard Jim works...

December 22, 200421 yr That is true, Terry. But do you honestly want the opposition of fans in your stadium? I would never consider that. Though you are correct on your economics of the ball park. yea why not. You won't be there, what does it matter. Do you always want 12,000 fans or would you like to expand the base a little. Do you like threads on this board that say go to the park, or would you rather have 30,000 people in the stands. expand the base, expand the payroll.

Maybe if they'd market better, this wouldn't be a problem.
December 22, 200421 yr Maybe if they'd market better, this wouldn't be a problem. I believe that "better marketing" is beginning to happen.
December 22, 200421 yr I believe that "better marketing" is beginning to happen. Two words, Brooks Boyer.
December 22, 200421 yr Mariotti and Levine were really sparring with one another during the last segment. Anyone else believe it was unprofessional of Bruuuuucce to mention Mariotti's daughters on air? Rather surprised Jay held his composure. Mariotti may present himself as an arrogant jerk, but Levine is hardy personable. Their mail segment was quite possibly the most ackward ten minutes I've yet to hear on radio. Numerious pot shots were exchanged; hilarity ensued. Levine still has yet to mention any news relating to El-Duque. The Score is running circles around this goof.
