December 29, 200421 yr He says he talked to some close people and feels that the Sox getting Javier Vazquez is a long shot, and the D'Backs would have to eat $4-5 million per year on his deal.
December 29, 200421 yr Doesnt surprise me, I think were almost done for the offseason or major moves atleast
December 29, 200421 yr Author says the Sox have renewed interest in AJ Piersynski. Original offer for that Japanese second baseman was only $1 million at the winter meetings.
December 29, 200421 yr says the Sox have renewed interest in AJ Piersynski. Wow. I wonder how serious they are. Why do they always get dense callers on there, by the way?
December 29, 200421 yr He says he talked to some close people and feels that the Sox getting Javier Vazquez is a long shot I've talked to absolutely nobody and I agree. Edited December 29, 200421 yr by FlaSoxxJim
December 29, 200421 yr Poor Harry Teinowitz, boo hoo, he hates the Cardinals. When I see him in Tucson I'll have to give him a St. Louis Cardinals beer mug or something. We'll see if we get 1-2 White Sox calls with Harry running the show.
December 29, 200421 yr Author Wow. I wonder how serious they are. Why do they always get dense callers on there, by the way? He said KW did talk to him and didn't think he would be a fit, but there is renewed interest in him.
December 30, 200421 yr What, the Sox would be COMPLETE different team if Aj and Iguchi were to come here. Pods,Vizcano,Dye,Hermanson,El Duque, Aj,Iguchi No Maggs, Lee, Jose. I highly doubt we get both Tony, but it would definitely be a completely different team.
December 30, 200421 yr Doesnt surprise me, I think were almost done for the offseason or major moves atleast :sleep :sleep :sleep wake me when the sox make a major move.
December 30, 200421 yr Wow. I wonder how serious they are. Why do they always get dense callers on there, by the way? Bad call screening policy. Call screening is an art. Better callers make a better show. Those talk show hosts with a good idea on how that makes a good show tend to have good callers.
December 30, 200421 yr :sleep :sleep :sleep wake me when the sox make a major move. I think trading for your buddy podsednik and vizcaino for lee is considered a major move.
December 30, 200421 yr I think trading for your buddy podsednik and vizcaino for lee is considered a major move. For Milwaulkee. Seriously though, I think the Brewers have about 25 to 30% of their total payroll locked up in both Jenkins and Lee. Those guys need to perform, otherwise they'll be in trouble when it comes to locking up the likes of Ben Sheets long - term. Edited December 30, 200421 yr by DBAH0
December 30, 200421 yr I think trading for your buddy podsednik and vizcaino for lee is considered a major move. I didn't know that Spod and LV is a major move.. Yeah I remember those opening headline on Sportscenter, and USA today..front page material.
December 30, 200421 yr I didn't know that Spod and LV is a major move.. Yeah I remember those opening headline on Sportscenter, and USA today..front page material. What else do you suggest then? We filled 3 holes with the Lee deal, getting a leadoff hitter, another reliever who's brutal against lefties in the pen, and another starter for the rotation so that we don't have to see Jason Grilli and his 8+ ERA again. And one time, you were in favor of trading Lee for Podsednik and Doug Davis I believe.

December 30, 200421 yr The CWS had 78 SB's last yr. Pods w a down year at the plate had 70 SB's. MIN had 116 SB's. The need was obvious. Moving Lee cleared over 16M/2yr. That allowed them to sign El Duque to a 2yr & Uribe to a 3yr plus plan for Rowand. So that trade affected no less than 6 players for the CWS: El Duque, Uribe, Rowand, Pods, Viscaino, PTBNL That certainly qualifies as a big move.
December 30, 200421 yr Enough about Vazquez, KW doesn't want that nag. Lol, for a second I thought you said KW doesn't want to be a nag I'm pumped that the Sox may address the catchers spot. I'd love to get Pyrz.
December 30, 200421 yr For Milwaulkee. Seriously though, I think the Brewers have about 25 to 30% of their total payroll locked up in both Jenkins and Lee. Those guys need to perform, otherwise they'll be in trouble when it comes to locking up the likes of Ben Sheets long - term. They'd love to dump Jenkins contract, but no one in the right mind will take it. Lee will produce though, but there still going nowhere next year. They got some good young talent coming up though.
December 30, 200421 yr Yeah well I made a mistake, on that one.. I also suggested that Brain anderson for Spod straight up It must be getting chilly in hell right now.
