January 6, 200521 yr I hope this is true, I don't want the Cubs to have him. But I'd be happy if he stayed a member of the Houston Astros.
January 6, 200521 yr QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:55 AM) welll...if this does end up being true, i can't complain. no cubs....no yankees True, the Mets are the dustbin of the present.
January 6, 200521 yr The New York Mets "Where stars go to die" Poor Pedro and Beltran. Pedro's arm will fall off and Beltran will rip his knee up stealing 2nd or 3rd/ possibly home. I wouldn't be surprised.
January 6, 200521 yr idonno they got a new GM mebe their players with all them huge contracts will finally come through
January 6, 200521 yr The Mets made their offer -- reportedly a six-year pact with an option for a seventh year containing $107 million in guaranteed money -- to Carlos Beltran yesterday. Agent Scott Boras said five teams remain in the running for his client. Boras also indicated that each of the five teams has met or exceeded his asking price of $112 million for seven years, a claim that no one seems to be buying. The Mets, Astros and Cubs are the known bidders for Beltran, and it's assumed that the Yankees are still in it, though they're hoping to push things back to next week. The Tigers have declared themselves out of the chase. It's still likely -- though not guaranteed -- that the matter will be decided before the Astros' Saturday night deadline. January 6, 200521 yr QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Tigers Not unless their GM is putting up a smoke screen. In one of yesterday's Detroit newspapers he said there was nothing going on.
January 6, 200521 yr I'm as tired about hearing about this as I am about the Big Unit trade. Just sign already!! Just not with the Yankee$$$ or Scrubs.
