I've been to Cali. a few times before, these are some random observations about my last 3 weeks there.

The Mexican food there is very dissapointing. From the one dollar taco stand to the $200.00 per person restaurant, all average at best. Isn't the population of Cali. like 52% Mexican?

The two most popular activities at Joshua Tree National Park are dropping acid and dropping peyote. Rock climbing comes in at a very distant third.

SoCal young people really, really love SoCal and love to tell you about it.

Just like at every other US/Mexico border point, you can get from Tijuana to SD by simply saying you're a US citizen. They didn't ask me for a passport or any identification....and I'm BROWN.

SD is the quietest mid size city I've ever been to, dead silent.

The famous 'Hollywood' sign in the hills originally read 'Hollywoodland'.

Every car follows the one in front of it extremely close on the freeways.

But it's also one of the nicest. I'd live there in a SECOND, with Phoenix a close second. :)

I've been giving Phoenix some serious thought lately.

Loved it when I visited a few years ago.

Been getting kind of tired of things around here.

Think I'll give it a while to see if it's just a phase.

Any area in particular of Phoenix there Critic? I was up in Glendale for 3 weeks back in early July, and I just loved it there myself. It's really taking off though in terms of houses being built etc.

I was in Phoenix proper, not too far from the BOB.

But I loved Scottsdale and Tempe too. Really, anyplace in that little quadrant is nice.

It's a pipe dream at this point, but if and when I get serious about it I think I'd like it a lot out there.

I was dissapointed in SD. It's a nice city but overhyped and WAY overpriced. An 800 sq. ft. studio condo downtown starts at 400K. Why? Because of the 'view'? What view? The housing is too frickin flat for any kind of view and the limited view of the ocean is cluttered with mostly old left over military crap.

Old Town I liked a lot.

Coronado was not that impressive, although the view from the bridge is nice.

La Jolla is nice.

HELP, I've had the hiccups for about 36 hours. I've tried everything that's been suggested to me, but I'll try (almost) any other suggestions.

My grade school principal used to put money in kids' hands and said "If you hiccup again, you get to keep the money." It always worked. except for me. I so spent that dollar!

I have a friend who's had hiccups for five years or so.

5 years??!! GTF otta here. At some point shouldn't it be a health concern?

Some people just have them I guess. I dunno.

I bought a 13 dollar pair of socks today. Does that make me strange?

I have a theory. Don't buy many socks because at XMas you're always good for a couple of pairs from some aunt you never see. And this year was no exception to that.

Would I call you strange? Maybe. $13 for a pair of socks though? Ok I'll say fruity. :bang

I could definitely imagine house prices would be very expensive down there. I was only there for 2 days, but I just remember it being a nice city, and the downtown area was really nice (better then the CBD down here), and ummmm the "scenery" was good.

Although I will say this. When you are travelling from Yuma to San Diego and need to take a bathroom break, do yourself a favor, hold it in. :bang

What the hell kinda socks are they?

Are they SmartWool? Super comfortable hiking socks, but they wear out quick.

It looks like my Brazil tour is going to happen. Anyone wanna go?

I'll go... Can you lend me $2500?

I just went outside this morning to get my mail (I’ve been indoors the last two days) and I noticed there’s absolutely no snow on my front lawn. All I saw were leaves from this past fall. Not to mention that it’s currently 41 degrees.

Not too often does it feel like Spring here in Northwest Indiana, two days before New Year’s.

You should have bought three and saved.

Probably too late but I've got two remedies:

Stick a teaspoon of sugar under your tongue for 2 minutes

or

Eat a table spoon of peanut butter off the spoon.
