February 1, 200521 yr Dont know if this was already posted if so merge or delete... on the Score sportsboard update it said donald driver said favre well announce his retirement. if this is true, this sucks :banghead
February 1, 200521 yr Really sucks. Statistically this was one of Favre's best seasons. I love the Bears, but I don't want them to finally get a hold of the Pack once Brett is gone, I want them to kick the living piss out of the Pack when Favre is still at the helm

February 1, 200521 yr OH MY GOD. :puke :puke :puke I have my Favre jersey on as I'm typing this. Favre is the most influential athlete in my life. Growing up, I idolized him, both on the field and off. He is one of the most respected and revered athletes of all time. Whenever I walked onto the field and took a snap, I tried to emmulate his every move. Not yet #4. Stick around one more season, say your goodbyes and groom the heir-apparent. This is such a bummer.
February 1, 200521 yr Driver said he ''think'' it will be his last year. I think farve comes back for at least one more year. He is not washed up yet.
February 1, 200521 yr i think it would be a mistake for him to leave. he can't carry a team, but he is still more than good enough to win. they have a good o-line, and good running attack, and all those receivers are finally growing up. draft some defensive help and who knows? give it a couple more years Brett.
February 2, 200521 yr QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) I'm gonna cry if this is true As a bears fan I'm not, go please go

February 2, 200521 yr How many times has Favre almost retired anyway? I won't believe it til I see it... although if he's gonna look as bad as he did against the Vikes last month, I'd rather see him ride off into the sunset near the top of his game.
February 2, 200521 yr Author Well for all you favre fans like me i just found this http://www.packersnews.com/archives/news/b..._19659454.shtml
February 2, 200521 yr I hope Brett does what he feels is best for himself and his family. He's a great QB and it would be sad to see him go off on such a sour note, but when it's time it's time. Can you imagine how he'd have been revered in Chicago if he'd played for the Bears?

February 2, 200521 yr I never believe an athlete talking about retirement during the season or just at the end of one. They are normally thinking about it because they are hurting like hell and after a month off start feeling good again and figure they can play again. Now if he still feels that way in about another month or so then I would be more believing of it.

February 2, 200521 yr Can't say I'd blame Emmett for retiring. Playing for Arizona would make most people desire retirement....

February 2, 200521 yr QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) Sports forum. Nothing wrong with this being here. Mr yasny. I agree with you. Please pardon my hatred towards the packers. Being a bear fan for 50 years does this to you. I have many packer -bear stories over the years. Bars, at games. You name it, I have seen it all. I like the packers AS much as we all here like the cubs. It is hard for me to embrace any packer fan.

I embrace a Packer fan every day.....because I married one..... She also likes the Cubs and the Milwaukee Bucks. She grew up in Wisconsin - but that doesn't explain the Cub thing..... But we don't argue about sports at all, because it's only sports, and not anything important at all. Life's hard enough without adding goofy arguments to it.
