March 29, 200520 yr Going to the Saturday afternoon game. Spending all day in Milwaukee. Probably going to watch the Final Four games at a bar call The Harp? My brother's heard of it. Anyway, looking forward to it. We have great seats, right behind home plate. Not bad for $15!

Anyway, looking forward to it. We have great seats, right behind home plate. Not bad for $15! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Harp ... Irish bar in the Water Street area, it's on Juneau right on the banks of the Milwaukee River, one block west of Water Street. They have a great outdoor deck but it'll be a little cold for that. Not too many tv's in there though, but there are plenty of options nearby. Directly across Juneau is a nice bar called The Lodge ... plenty of tv's. The Harp is a great bar though, Friday happy hours are legendary.
March 29, 200520 yr I have never been in The Harp, but it looks like a dump and I heard it is expensive. If you go one block east from The Harp, you will be on Water Street and there are a ton of good bars. Also, the Gym bar on campus is now called the Annex. Haggerty's is another good bar on campus. If anyone wants any good bars to check out, leave a message on this post and I will try to read them and get back to you. Bill

Bill <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Harp is a fairly typical Irish bar, it's been there for 30 years. Definitely not a dump. Downtown Milwaukee prices, meaning, not Marquette bar prices. As Bill mentions, at least a dozen choices on Water Street which is right in the downtown area and only 20 minutes from the ballpark. There are quite a few bars in the UW-M area, but that's on the east side and about 20 blocks or so north of Water St. - a bit out of the way unless you're staying up that way. Before or after the game near the ballpark, see the posts above, Kelly's Bleachers and 4th Base are good places. 4th Base has a great fish fry on Fridays ... lake perch. Marquette University isn't terribly far from Miller Park at all. Miller Park is about 4600 West, and Marquette is clustered from roughly 1200 to 1800 West on Wells Street. If you go to the Marquette bars stick with the crowds. Some of the areas around Marquette, particularly to the west, can be a little rough. As Bill states, both The Annex and Heggarty's are fun for the college crowd.
March 29, 200520 yr Just a quick note, some of the bars on Marquette campus can be tough on ID's, so for the under agers...beware Bill
March 30, 200520 yr I be there on Sat. Got those free seats from the Sox,and there not bad. Ist base line between infield and outfield. Wear your Sox gear!!!
March 31, 200520 yr We just booked our hotel. $44 for the Sheraton in Brookfield which is less than 10 minutes from the park. If any of you are still looking for hotels, try Priceline because that is what we used and found a great deal.

April 1, 200520 yr QUOTE(diehard chisox 1427 @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) I have a nice situation. I go to school at Marquette and Miller Park is minutes away, probably 10 minutes. So I plan on going back to campus afterwards and partying. Yeah, but i heard that parties at Marquette end at around 9, so u wont make it back in time. And no, I'm not trying to bash Marquette, but friends that go there(about 6 or 7) say everything ends so early there. I was up there for Halloween and everyone was heading back home from Halloween parties on campus at around 9:30. That's why I don't go to the campus anymore to visit my friends after I go to Bucks/Bulls games. I wish I could go to see the Sox and Brewers though because I want to see Miller Park.
April 1, 200520 yr Author we'll be at the wyndam, so whatever bars are around there will have some sox fans
