The key is to just limit the size people have because we've had lots of complaints from members who like to see sigs, but not ones that take up half the page. Sigs are a cool thing and there are some really awesome ones on this site. In no way do we want people to get rid of them, more to make sure they are a reasonable size (and this may effect 5% of the posters, if that) and if they aren't, to simply resize it down.

This way people have a few options, you can have sigs and they won't take as much space or people can get rid of it all together. Regardless everyone that wants to use a sig will have plenty of space to use it, imo. Its not like were going to sit around right clicking and checking the size of every sig. Its more to have a limit out so those really long sigs that when someone posts multiple times in a game thread for example, don't take up pretty much the whole page (when multiplied over all the posts).

Its not something being done because we want to snap the whip, none of us give a damn, we've long wanted to have some size requirements for sigs and well now they are there.
