Curry likely done for the year

Featured Replies

Breaking news from the Score. David Schuster reported that the Bulls have said Curry will not return to the court this year due to the abnormality problems with his heart. He said Curry wanted to continue, but the doctors advised otherwise.

Wow. The Bulls will be a first round and done now for sure. Get well soon Eddy.

This is beyond the Bulls season. Let's hope Eddy can continue his career.

Curry out for playoffs

The Bulls have called a 7 p.m. news conference at the Berto Center, at which time they will announce that center Eddy Curry will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs because of his irregular heartbeat, a team source said.

Curry has been sidelined since complaining of an irregular heartbeat on March 30 in Charlotte. The team said he missed the game because of flu-like symptoms, but the Tribune reported that Curry experienced arrhythmia that kept him in Charlotte overnight.

He underwent testing for two days in Charlotte and then was transferred to Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he underwent further testing.

Results of that testing proved inconclusive, creating the need for Curry to visit specialists in Boston last Friday and in Minnesota on Tuesday. Results of those tests will be announced at the news conference, but the team's cautious approach will continue, as Curry will miss the remainder of the season.

Curry, the team's leading scorer at 16.1 points per game, will be a restricted free agent this summer.

General manager John Paxson and team physicians Brian Cole and Kathy Weber will join Curry at the news conference.

s***!!!

Even the Curry-haters have to admit this hurts our chances at having a successfull playoffs run...

Damn, this sucks.

Really weird that he keeps having problems during the games but right after the games when he goes to the hospitals they can't find anything wrong. He has already been to several heart specialist and still have a lot more lined up. This can't be good whatever it is. Just hope he is healthy enough to resume his career.

I will tell you one thing... this significantly hurts him when it comes to what he is gonna get next year ( money wise).

The report from the score on curry.

Duhon on curry.

Want to give credit to spongy from bbb with these audios.

Like Yansy said, this is about Curry getting healthy. Far as basketball goes, we weren't getting past the second round anyway. However, I still think we can take the Wizards or Pacers in round one.

Curry is nothing but an essential player for the bulls. I think the management is paying the doctors off to sign curry for a cheaper contract this offseason and a serious push for the next few seasons.

WE NEED TO RESIGN these guys

Yes, we our paying off ten specialists.

Gordon on curry.

lol that is hilarious... paying the doctors off.... Well all my playoff dreams effectively died.... it sucks to not have Deng and Curry in the playoffs... figures our team stays healthy for most of the season and everyone goes down towards the end.... :crying

I think we might be able to beat the pacers but not against the wizards.

Bulls w/o Curry and Deng in playoffs= :huh

This sucks..Chandler and AD are going to have to step it up again now

No Deng + No Curry = short playoff stint.

Get well Eddy.

I've been saying that too, he will probably not play again. Screw the playoffs, it's his life we're talking about.

I hope he was smart with his loot.

Nothing points towards him never playing again. They just want to take it easy and really dig deep to find out what is wrong with him.

yeah there has been no indication that this is a career ending setback they just want to make sure they know the problem and until they do they arent going to risk EC's health.... I bet he could play right now but they are just being cautious.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, or hoping it does, just got a feeling, hope I'm wrong.

He wants to play right now but the bulls have told him not to.

Others sports players have successfully played after these kinds of problems/conditions. I'm not sure where I read or saw that, but he isn't the first athlete to have this happen to.

Anybody have any good examples? Heart-related problems, that is...
