Princess Dye
is staying in this lineup. i know this was brought up before, but it doesnt seem like he's ready to take that nosedive anytime soon. he's in shape, and his early career power looks to be back. i'm thinking he either is our DH against righties..... or he replaces Dye. perhaps Podsednik could go to RF. i'm thinking Dye really needs to pick it up, or else it'll just be silly to have Carl on the bench. anyone converting to this side yet? WilliamTell
I'd like him to stay in the lineup and maybe if Rowand continues to slump, he will be in the lineup every day. Dye isn't doing too hot either as of now.

WilliamTell
I thought Pods played center last year, I'm probably wrong though.

IlliniKrush
Pods doesn't have the range nor the arm Rowand has. Pods is just fast. That doesn't make you a great outfielder
Capn12
Pods arms is average at the best. He doesnt have the arm to play Centerfield. Hell if we gotta pick someone to ride the bench as of right now, my man is Jermaine Dye. He has shown me very little, and has had many 0-fer days already. Everett is not great in the outfield at all, but a guy who has a hot bat but average defense overrules decent defense but s***ty bat right now in our offense. "Dye-ing for a hit" needs a little wake up call and free playing time isin't gonna get that done.
3E8
If Everett keeps up this level of hitting, he cannot be removed from the lineup. Period. I'd only sit him against tough lefties, in which case Dye can start.
DonkeyKongerko
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) TWINS KILLER In four games against the Twinkies this season: .533 AVG 15 AB 8 Hits 3 HR 2 Doubles 3 Singles 9 RBI 3 Runs With all the Sox killers the Twins have had the past few years, Carl is some small revenge right now. Hopefully he can continue to be a thorn in their side. I remember in that September 2003 series at the dome, Carl was pretty much the only Sox player hitting anything. DBAHO
I remember the ideas in the off-season that suggested Carl was making too much to be a bench player, and he wasn't going to be used enough. Well folks, in hindsight that probably wasn't the best idea was it. Right now, Everett has forced himself to be an everyday player, even when Frank comes back. I've got faith in Dye being able to turn it around though, so I think things will definitely turn out ok.

Guest JimH
Just curious, where are all the posters who trashed Everett all winter?
CanOfCorn
Maybe, the White Sox trade Big Frank if Dye can pick it up? Maybe get a decent bench player and a playoff ready pitcher?

Guest JimH
[JimHtryingtogetawordinaroundquick] <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Meanwhile, I'm 3-0 in friendly wagers with him so far this year.
Punch and Judy Garland
Jim, they are probably waiting for it to be later than April 19th. I've always been Jurassic neutral. I liked him more as the 6th hitter in our loaded lineup than as the man in the current form. I still think it was dumb to bring him in given his contract and how we could have had him the offseason before and not had to trade stuff for him twice. I don't know who the odd man out is right now: probably Rowand and Dye splitting time but that will play itself out. Signing Hidalgo to a one year deal sounds better than Dye at 2 years at this very early moment...
