Holy cow, incredible AB by Widger there. Thought that ball was going to hang up long enough for Kotsay to catch.

Fouled off a ton of tough pitches. Fastballs down and in, sliders down and away -- real tough pitches. Finally, he gets a pitch, a low fastball I think (down in the zone), and he drives it to short center with sort of a poke swing.

 

Really an awesome AB. Probably the best AB of the year. By any Sox hitter.
