Sweeney has said he would love to play for the Dodgers, but he's just too injury prone and not a good enough fielder for the NL for them to trade for him. Why would you anyway when you've got Choi as well.

I wouldn't go that far. Choi has splits of .262/.351/.462, not great by all means but respectable for a NL 1st baseman, plus he's only making $351,500. Would you rather Mike Sweeney who'd only probably play in about 120 games a season for an extra $10 million?

 

And you think they would want Cora back over Valentin now, especially the way Jose's been hitting? That a boneheaded move by DePodesta and everyone knew it. He never should have let Beltre leave in the 1st place.

Aww, come on, Choi isn't that bad. 106 OPS+ for his career is dissappointing, but not terrible.

 

But, if you could upgrade to Mike Sweeney for a reasonable price, I think they'll do it.
