Well, the good thing is that it shows Kenny and Reinsdorf are willing to spend money on this team. Walker gets $425,000 to come to the big league roster.

Only $100,000 of the $525,000 contract Kevin Walker signed with the White Sox today is guaranteed.

This makes more sense. Walker will get the rest of the money if he makes the team out of spring training. He can also earn $50,000 in bonuses, $25,000 each for making 65 and 70 appearances.

Bajenaru wasn't exactly stellar last season. We need another lefty in the bullpen, not a righty. I just hope Walker pitches like he did in the beginning of Spring Training and not how he did toward the end of ST and at Charlotte.

What more does Baj have to do at Charlotte? He's dominated. It's time to get him up here, and see what he can do. There's absolutely no point in leaving him there... See if he's got what it takes to pitch at this level.

Cotts is NOT a lefty specialist. Take a look at his career splits. Lefties hit .268 against him while righties hit .232 against him.

That's nice but I never said Walker was a stud. My point was that Cotts is not a lefty specialist.

 

By the way, does anyone think that the Blue Jays may claim Jamie Burke off of waivers now due to Gregg Zaun's injury? Either that or they could re-sign Greg Myers out of retirement.

How are you going to feel when Walker takes the bump in any game? On a 24-7 team, I wont be to happy.

The only reason Walker is up is because he pitched well in spring and Ozzie got to see him pitch well first hand. Baj or Fields would of been the better call if they wanted an extra reliever and with Marte/Cotts in teh pen its not like the Sox need a 3rd lefty.

 

Baj pitched well in spring but rarely got any action in games Ozzie was managing. And he wasn't bad last year, he had some awful luck and the numbers were awful.
