3 Sox Minor Leaguers Test Positive for Steroids?

Featured Replies

This could be why Antoin Gray is on the suspended list.

Toca rumored to be one of the names. Giambi was just released, so he could have been a positive test, although we should wait for the names to be released.

Well now we know why Valido was hitting so well.

Toca Valido and Yofu

NO, not Tetsu Yofu! :crying

"It is disappointing that players from our minor-league system tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in violation of Major League Baseball and the MLBPA's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment program," said David Wilder, White Sox director of player development.

"We will continue to offer any support we can to players who remain members of the White Sox family, however, at the same time we strongly support Major League Baseball and the drug testing program because it is in the best interests of the game.  There is no place for performance-enhancing drugs in baseball."

Crap, Valido? I really like him.

I hope this was just some fluke thing.

Back to Valido hitting .250 like he did in Kanny.

It looks more likely that we'll be drafting a shortstop in round 1.

Valido is our numero uno SS prospect so this is not good

Damnit, Yofu is too cool of a name to do steroids.

Release all 3 of them.

I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for these guys.

We also know nothing about what any of the situations or substances might be. They test for more than just steroids, including quite a few over the counter substances that show up in health food products. Hopefully it's just a lesson learned.

LMAO, Bruce Levine just got asked about these guys on Chicago Tribune Live. He said how Toca is merely filling a spot in AAA. Ok, no big deal. He then talked about Valido and how the White Sox were pretty pissed. Then, here's the funny part, 'Valido is down in AA'. :bang Do your homework Bruce!

However, now take it with a grain of salt, he said Valido was taking an over-the-counter powder from GNC.

I guess I should've said if they were doing roids. Of course, we could hook Timo up with some flaxseed oil.....

I can't blame Yofu and Toca...if I'm 30 and pretty much out of chances, I would consider doing steroids too.

However that doesn't make it right...I hope they enjoy their break.

Yofu was released yesterday so the Sox must of known.

I was just thinking the samething. They must have told the teams before they released the info. I take it Toca is gone now too?
