Favorite Athlete Nicknames

Featured Replies

What is your favorite athlete nickname?

Mine is Rich Garces or "El Guapo." Every single time I hear that name, I laugh out loud. The idea of such a fat relief pitcher being called that just kills me. Let's hear some more funny or interesting ones.

Personal Favorite:

Stacey "The Plastic Man" Augmon

Lance Broadway. A name fit for porn.

Yeah, that's a good one.

I'd have figured that you'd choose Sleepy Floyd. ;)

"The Human Highlight Film" is quite clever too...

"The Round Mound of Rebound" has always been one of my favs.

Lance "The Pants" Broadway

El Caballo

"The Worm"

El Canon - Atonio Osuna's glove says it

Even though I hated the Pistons and I hated Vinnie Johnson, I always thought, "The Microwave" was a good one. Especially since it was when microwaves were really starting to become popular household items AND Vinnie could heat up that fast.

I always liked George Gervin's nickname. The Iceman.

Rafer "Skip-to-my-Lou" Alston.

and of course, "The Big Hurt"

Torii "The little b****" Hunter is one of my personal favs.

I don't know if it was a nickname first, but he actually changed his name to World B. Free.

Yes I know he officially changed it, but it started as a nickname.
