June 13, 200520 yr QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) make a trade for Jason Schmidt according to several SF newspapers. Several players are on the block including Moises Alou We dont need another starter
June 13, 200520 yr No for Pissy-Hands and a possibility for Schmidt as long as he doesn;t cost us the nest 30 years of Sox baseball which he likely would so also a no.
June 13, 200520 yr WE NEED ANOTHER OUTFIELDER AND ANOTHER STARTING PITCHER!! GO GET EM KENNY! WHAT A PACKAGE THAT WOULD BE! Edited June 13, 200520 yr by Buehrle>Wood
June 13, 200520 yr Author If the Giants were to pay most of Schmidt salary. I would love to have him pitch for us . Never can have to much pitching
June 13, 200520 yr Author Schmidt had over 460k's over the last two seasons with about 35 victories...
June 13, 200520 yr When will people realize that we need maybe a 3rd baseman and another reliever? WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER STARTING PITCHER OR ANOTHER OUTFIELDER!!!
June 13, 200520 yr If I was Kenny Williams I would go after Eddie Guarado especailly right now with Marte injured...
June 13, 200520 yr alou, that would be a smack in the cubs face schmidt looks beat up this year thats 2 nos here
June 13, 200520 yr QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) WE NEED ANOTHER OUTFIELDER AND ANOTHER STARTING PITCHER!! GO GET EM KENNY! WHAT A PACKAGE THAT WOULD BE! Couldnt be a more wrong post. :headshake
June 13, 200520 yr My big concern with Jermaine Dye coming into this season was his health. Thus far, he's been fine with that. If by some miracle both Dye and Everett go down, then Alou's not a bad replacement. Otherwise...no, that's a bad idea.
June 13, 200520 yr QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) Couldnt be a more wrong post. :headshake Obvious sarcasm, anyone?
June 13, 200520 yr has their been any rumors in chicago about the Sox making a trade since Marte is injured.
June 13, 200520 yr QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) has their been any rumors in chicago about the Sox making a trade since Marte is injured. Marte is not that badly hurt. I wouldn't be surprised to see him this series, maybe even tonight. He was having no pain yesterday, but they just didn't have him throwing. With luck, the days off will have been good for him.
June 13, 200520 yr QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) has their been any rumors in chicago about the Sox making a trade since Marte is injured. he supposed to be able to pitch tonight
June 13, 200520 yr I like the starting pitching and have more than ample outfielders! Plus what would I do if Alou tossed me a ball in the stands after the 3rd out? Do I catch the piss ball or let it go?
June 13, 200520 yr I read on the futuresox board site that Marte might go on the DL and the Sox will bring up Bobby Jenks
June 13, 200520 yr The most pressing need for this team is a sure-fire reliever & not a starter. Our starter's era is a 0.25 better than the Twins. Our reliever's era is nearly a full run worse than the Twins. Our pen has 3 guys having career years in Politte, Cotts, & Hermy. Will that last all season? Who knows. Nathan, Romero, & Crain instill more confidence for the Twins. The next 3 are struggling: Marte, Viz, & Shingo. Will they turn it around? Probably not all 3 of them. So we have at best a pen that is better than most but a far cry from the Twins. Guardado would be a nice addition. But if we could land two fine arms that would be best.
June 13, 200520 yr If we are talking trades with the Giants that aren't going to happen, what about "The Fonz." Plays third, pretty good bat, pretty good defense. NOt as much power, but that's ok.
June 13, 200520 yr Can we trade for Barry Bonds? I have heard he wants to win a ring at all costs Edited June 13, 200520 yr by sox-r-us
June 13, 200520 yr QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) he supposed to be able to pitch tonight damn it

Exactly, bullpen is a constant need. You can never have toom any good arms there. Good bullpens can determine the outcomes of seasons. Just ask the Braves all those regular season wins and bullpen implosions during the playoffs.
June 13, 200520 yr There isn't a team in the league that couldn't use the Jason Schmidt pre-05. I just don't understand what is wrong with him. Clearly, there is shoulder trouble. THe other part might be as simple as having to learn how to pitch at 90-92. Jason has been brutal but if you had a healthy Schmidt, you get a guy who can outduel the Santanas of the world which is special
