July 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) I call shennanigans But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun. Yeah, his shenanigans are cruel and tragic. Which wouldn't make them shenanigans, at all, really. Evil shenanigans!

July 22, 200520 yr I have to believe this. from what I know of Billy Sample he doesnt make up alot of rumors like someone like gammons.
July 22, 200520 yr Well, heres the thing. I dont see us hanging onto all of those players. If KW makes this move, he may be turning around Lilly and Hillenbrand to FLA or SF, or even LA.
July 22, 200520 yr From what I read the last few weeks the Sox scouts have been watching the jays alot. So this rumor can possibility be true..
July 22, 200520 yr Hell yeah I'd do this trade if Konerko is in there. Contreras for Ted Lilly. We get a lefty who is better and cheaper. Hillenbrand could replace Konerko. He plays first and third and is hitting .297. AND basically Shingo and a prospect for Batista Edited July 22, 200520 yr by Ozzie Montana

July 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) That the Whitesox have been scouting Lilly& Batista Where have you read this...?
July 22, 200520 yr Meanwhile, the White Sox and the Nationals are looking for a lefty starter. Yet neither had scouts in town to see Ted Lilly last night... The Mets need bullpen help. Hello, Miguel Batista? The Texas Rangers, after being told Vernon Wells was not available, have some interest in Frank Catalanotto, although the Jays think more of Catalanotto's worth than the Rangers do. "

July 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) If KW can pull this deal off.. He is going for it all this year and not worried about the future Future? what future? Oh the one that features, Borch, Diaz, etc
July 22, 200520 yr Hmm -- I'd love to have any one of these guys on the Sox. Lilly would be a very nice pitcher to have, he could spot start and pitch in long-relief. Batista would help us in the later innings and push everyone down a peg, and Hillenbrand would give us a damn good right-handed bat off the bench. The million dollar question, though, is for what price?
July 22, 200520 yr If this is true, which I don't believe, i would love the deal. Lilly gives us a good starter, Batista is a great reliever who can go 3 innings if needed and Hillenbrand is a solid hitter.
July 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) The question is why would the Sox do this.. other than Hilly.. nothing is an upgrade for us. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How is Hilly an upgrade? Over Konerko maybe, but not Crede as a total package.
July 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Future? what future? Oh the one that features, Borch, Diaz, etc That's a really ignorant comment if you're serious.
July 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) Where have you read this...? From the july 16th trib: The Sox's pitching staff has allowed one run in its first two games of the second half. At the same time, Sox special assistant Bill Scherrer was in Toronto scouting left-handers Ted Lilly and Gustavo Chacin.
