Isn't Joe Crede just Jose Valentin

Featured Replies

Clearly, he is

career .2sucky average but enough pop to warrant an ML contract

luckily for him he can play defense

at least on most nights

I'm just about done with this guy

That's nice.

stfu, you sound like a cubs fan... always whining. =/

Valentin hits about .215. Joe at least hits mid 240s. That was his first error in FIFTY games. FIFTY. That's like our current lead in the division times five.

Hang on. The ship aint sinking yet.

No, Valentin hits more HRs, walks and strikesout more, and has a worse arm but more range.

I've supported this guy staunchly for 4 years and my support is severely wavering with every day he continues to post a .240something average

Valentin could walk onto the set of any porno and find work in an instant. Crede - not so much.

Hibbard, your third post on the topic was the charm.

Your first post was snippy; I'd say this one was reasonable.

As a Crede supporter, I love his glove (s*** he made a mistake flicking at that pop up that led to the Manny bomb). It was his first error in an obscene amount of games.

I don't think we'd be happy if Randa was our everyday third baseman, either.

well if it wasn't for crede tonight it would have been a close ball game. How? well after aj hit the homer with two outs crede went right to work and got a base hit. Jose would have just struck out or found some other way to get out. This allowed for uribe to come up and deliver as he has started to do lately. Joe crede doesn't give up with two outs so he is not like valentin.

Joe Crede has hit .275 or over in 3 of the 4 months this season so far. Some food for thought. He also has an OPS over .820 in each of those months.

Great posts. I think we're going to regret it if we dump Joe.

I don't know how or why, but behind Frank, Crede's become my 2nd favorite player on the Sox. I have a real hard time hating the guy.

Are we talkin' pre-'burns Crede or post-'burns?

Crede's hitting over .300 with men on base!

I feel the exact same way, I don't want this icky feeling, I'm supposed to hate Joe Crede but for some reason I have become a fan of the guy. I just really can't find any reason to hate him.

Psssh, with those sideburns Joe will get a job instantaneously!

A month or 2 ago, people were calling for upgrades at 3B and SS as the main problem areas. Now it seems Uribe has become the main target for criticism in the Sox lineup, which at least shows Joe has picked it up offensively.
