We need Crede to get on base, just so Uribe won't be leading off the 9th (or should I say Timo).

Uribe has been hitting better of late. He did score the winning run on Wed.

This isn't an insult on just the Red Sox (b/c we do it too), but I'm not a big fan of constant switching of pitchers within an inning. It just makes boring baseball. Bill James had an idea that I agree with...

 

Managers could only put in a new reliever if...

a ) new inning

b ) reliever gives up a run

c ) one free mid-inning switch per game.

God, I hate a Francona managed game, he's all about situational matchups, even if it means 5 pitching changes in 2 innings.

 

 

Yep, f*** that coach for making the smart baseball decisions during a game. It's a good thing Ozzie doesn't have any real specialist pitchers, because I don't think he'd know how to use them.

I'm not a fan of Crede, but if we lose this game, Buehrle is the goat.  We gave him enough runs that we should have expected a win with him on the mound, and he s*** the bed tonight.

His swing is way too long right now. He's getting good pitches to hit, and his back is just flying open. That's why he's been hitting a lot of lazy fly balls to RF. He has nothing behind his swing.
