We're still gonna win (knock on wood) and Oz's faith in El Duque may pay off when it counts ... in the playoffs!

I heard Hawk say that big picture comment, and that's absolutely ridiculous. You need to make the playoffs before you can start planning the playoffs. If we were to lose this game tonight, a 7 game lead isn't a sure thing.

Good at-bat AJP

I still can't understand how people can say Ozzie is a good manager. He's a good cheerleader, terrible manager.

He is a good manager. To lead a team with a lot of deficiencies with this kinda record means he's doing a good job.

Usually Ozzie is obsessed with getting his players a win but I don't get that move. He is not a complete game pitcher. Use the bullpen, thats what its there for.

i give credit to ozzie for getting KW to buy into his philosphy and change the outlook on this team.

that's all.

Exactly. Ozzie doesn't trust our bullpen. I've been saying it for the last two months now. Cotts/Cliff/Hermanson/Jenks deserve the right to get the last 6 outs of a game for this team to win. We're not the Diamondbacks where we need the starting pitcher to go as many innings as possible.

What was the problem leaving Duque in for Bloomquist?

He was cruising, and hung a pitch. It happens.

Maybe shouldn't have left him in for Ibanez, but I see no reason why he shouldn't pitch to Bloom...

I think Hawk knows a little baseball.

How do you know our relief corps would have gotten out of the inning.

It's easy to second guess, but the game is still tied and we still should win the game.

It seems like he is saving th ebullpen for something. Maybe the double header in Texas. :huh

Duque is not the type of pitcher to go 8 innings. The more the other team sees him, the more they get used to his delivery. We have a guy in our bullpen who hasn't allowed a run in nearly 20 outings.

One. Game. at a Time.

That's exactly what i was thinking when ozzie left El Duque in for the 8th inning.

Second guess? There were plenty on here begging for Duque not to start the 8th.

Probably with the way the pen pitched in Minny, that prob left a little bit of doubt in Ozzie's mind that they would get the job done.

Wow, Dye had a great pitch to hit.

Shouldn't have even faced Ichiro.

Yeah, I have a feeling you're right. Still, what did Cotts do to piss someone off?

Way to get it done there Dye. :headbang

i agree....pitchers hang pitches..it happens...let ozzie manage his game...it is easy for us to do it..we cant get fired

Blum doing his best Crede impression there. I actually was confident he'd put a good swing on the ball.

Blum is not a good offensive player.

I really hope we don't see Hermanson today. Don't be a complete ass, Ozzie. You already used Duque for 8 innings when his arm is about to fall off. You don't need to use Hermy with his terrible back for the 3rd day in a row.

Yeah, but he's still hitting better than Crede

he didn't cut his hair

Uribe is just flying off of the ball. That 1-1 pitch was a great pitch to hit. We need him to hit a flare.
