I will tell you what.  Bartolo is a freak.  He is pitching into the 10th and still throwing 96 mph, thats unbelieveable.  The guy is a horse, and I really wish we would have held on to him.

The Sox offered him the biggest contract in team history and he turned it down. The deal was in Bartolo's hands and he said no.

Oh, I know that we tried, and Im not blaming the sox. I just wish we still had him. Would it have been possibly to have a rotation of Bartolo, Freddy, MB, Garland. Makes you wonder.....

If we would have offered him more than three years with undeferred money then we might have him. It was probably a decent financial move to let him go but its not like we were in the same ballpark with the Angels offer.

We probably wouldn't have Freddie if Colon signed.

I'd appreciate hearing about Kay/Rivera. Thanks in advance

The angels end up winning the final two games of the series and it's all tied up now in the West. Good stuff....

That race is going down to the final week.

Just like last season.

Freaking studly performance by Santana tonight. He was rocking and aside from Vladdy playing like s*** once again (and failing to knock in runs with a guy on 3rd and less than 2 outs twice today).

Total blast although I was dissapointed, stadium wasn't quite as packed as I expected. Still drew 41000 but there were a lot more on Tuesday than tonight.

Oh and RedandWhite, ya I'm an Angel fan. They are my 2nd team :)

Here's the Kay/Juan Rivera story:

In a recent Angels/Yankees game, Derek Jeter robbed Juan Rivera of a hit. For the next 3 innings, Kay talked about how it was sweet justice against the guy whole stole his stuff when he was on the Yankees. Kay went out of his way to bash Rivera. Here's the thing....it was Ruben Rivera that stole stuff from the Yankees locker room, and not Juan Rivera.

How the f*** do you screw that up? Hell, I'd say 90% of this board knew it was Ruben Rivera, how does Michael Kay, a man so close to the Yankees, confuse the two?

Seriously, thats pathetic. Plus Ruben was the guy that was dealt to the Pads originally for Irabu (the japenese pitcher that was a total bust).

The worst thing is that NO ONE associated with the broadcast corrected him.

Ya, that's pretty bad.

There's usually atleast 2 other guys in the booth and none of them jumped in and saved him? Wow.

According to what my brother said, the announcers were just agreeing with everything he said. I think it was Paul O'Neill in the booth with them. Wasn't O'Neill probably on that team when it happened?

I believe he was. Do you know what day this was? I wouldn't mind going back and seeing if it's on MLB.tv they tend to use the YES Network broadcast.

It was when the Angels were facing the Yankees during a wknd series over a month ago. It might have been the Saturday game, which if my memory is correct, went into extra innings w/the Yanks making a huge comeback.

That Saturday comeback game on July 30th was a Fox game so I'm thinking it was most likely either the Sunday or Friday game then.

Good point. Let me see what I can find out.

Me too! I was at Tuesday's A's/Angels game - tight, but a great game (too bad about the outcome.) I'd like the Sox to play the Angels in the ALDS so I can actually see the Sox in person....

although Oakland will be tough to beat. If the Angels could hit on a regular basis, they'd be unstoppable. Unfortunately, they can't. This may go down to the final weekend again.
