Just because we didn't think he'd be here doesn't mean his loss didn't make us worse.  It clearly made us worse.

Having him for 24 games made us better, so there is some convoluted logic in what you are saying, but we didn't have him when we built the majority of the lead, and we don't have him now. I don't how Frank being out makes us any worse than we were when he was out at the beginning of the year.

You didn't hear that from KW or Ozzie.  You may have heard it around here, but not from the ballclub.

Actually there were plenty of press conf in ST where Ozzie talked about Frank and his impact on the team and how if healthy will be a big part of the team. In the Spring there was all sorts of Frank speculation on when he would be back. In fact Ozzie called Frank a bunch of times the best right handed hitter he had played with. The was a Frank watch going on.

Ozzie said numerous times something to the effect, "I don't worry about who's not here. I worry about who is here." "If healthy" is, of course, what he'd say. The team was NOt counting on Frank to return. They made a point of stating that as they were building the team and during Spring Training. Repeatedly!

Wasn't Kenny saying that once they got Frank back(early in the season) that, that would be the big boost to the lineup needed??

There was point prior to when Frank came back, that it looked like he would come back. Of course, then, they would start talking that way. That's only logical. Things change when his return is probable, if not for certain.

But, this team was built without them counting on Frank. It was repeatedly stated by KW.

In an interview with Chicago Tribune Live yesterday KW said he wanted Frank to take the rest of the year to heal. He said he wants him to reach his ultimate goal of 500 hrs. Does this mean Frank will probably come back in 2006? And if he does will he do the samething as he did this year by "not counting on him behing here"? That means does he go after another DH or just re-sign Jurassic Carl?

I won't be surprised if KW doesn't make any dramatic moves this offseason- esspecially if we make the playoffs this season.

What do you guys think?
