September 6, 200520 yr According to ESPN, it's Washburn v. Beuhrle. If the rotation stays the same, it'll be Colon v. Garland on Saturday and Lackey v. El Duque on Sunday. Edited September 6, 200520 yr by CanOfCorn
September 6, 200520 yr Anyone need tix for sat? Garland vs Colon? Face value+4 bucks for the transfer fee
September 6, 200520 yr I'd say that Sunday match up is contingent on El Duque shutting down the Royals.
September 6, 200520 yr Author Thx guys. Schweet, I'm geeked for this series. Call me crazy, but I wish we had a couple more series against possible playoff teams. Yeah, it's fun to smack the rest of the Central around, but that won't be the competition in Oct.
September 6, 200520 yr Colon's status for his start on saturday is still being referred to as "Uncertain" due to back trouble.
September 6, 200520 yr QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Colon's status for his start on saturday is still being referred to as "Uncertain" due to back trouble. I can understand why, he's carrying the team. He's a big reason they're winning the division right now.
September 6, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 01:11 PM) I can understand why, he's carrying the team. He's a big reason they're winning the division right now. What exactly is the injury? Likely to keep him out of the post season?
September 6, 200520 yr QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) What exactly is the injury? Likely to keep him out of the post season? Tightness in his lower back. It will not keep him out for any extended period of time. Most likely he'll be pitching this weekend.
September 6, 200520 yr QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) What exactly is the injury? Likely to keep him out of the post season? eh... He's got a back.
September 6, 200520 yr Barring a great outing tonight for El Duque, shouldn't McCarthy get the experience and pitch Sunday?
September 6, 200520 yr I've seen Washburn pitch against the Sox every single time i've seen the Angels play here.
September 6, 200520 yr QUOTE(HeGone! @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) Barring a great outing tonight for El Duque, shouldn't McCarthy get the experience and pitch Sunday? Personally I actually like the idea of a 6 man rotation for the next few weeks...the rest wouldn't hurt the other guys, and the experience wouldn't hurt BMac.
September 6, 200520 yr that Garland/Colon matchup could very well decide who wins the cy young this season...
September 6, 200520 yr we're seeing the best the angels have, that's for sure. And I'm grateful for that since I think we're going to see them in the first round, imho. Good to get a look at their best rotation. Especially Lackey -- he's been awesome since the break. They need all the looks they can get at this guy.

Right now the Yankees have a worse record than them...if the Yankees passed them, we'd still play the Yankees because Boston coudln't play New York. If Oakland were to pass the Yankees, we'd have Oakland in the first round. If Cleveland passed the Yankees...Ok, we'd have the Angels in round 1. If Oakland passed the A's and the A's still won the WC, we'd also have the A's in round 1. I see us playing NY in round 1 as the most likely scenario right now...Oakland is probably going to fall off the pace now that Crosby is hurt again...and Cleveland has been falling back a bit lately.

I think the Yankees are going to win the east in the last series of the year, the Red Sox returning to their passion for choking and giving their entire pathetic nation reason to once again celebrate their culture of losing. Gee, I hope we see another one of those exciting HBO docs with that hunky ben affleck... :puke Edited September 7, 200520 yr by The Ginger Kid
