The only time, IMO, it worked with celebs was the company softball team.

"MATTINGLY! SHAVE THOSE SIDEBURNS!"

You can't go wrong when you have multiple Hall of Fame ballplayers playing a company softball game with a 90 year old millionaire coach.

I have to agree.

Homer: Come here, boy, I want to show you something.

Bart:  What's that, a homemade bat?

Homer: It's something very special.  A homemade bat.

Bart:  [sees Homer's homemade bat]  Wow!  How many home runs you gonna

          hit with that?

Homer: Let's see.  We play thirty games.  Ten at-bats a game.  Mmm...

          Three thousand.

How many f***ing times can Homer be in debt to the mob? They just rehash the same f***ing plot over and over. Continuously repeating the same lame ass plot and using the same annoying celebrity guest voices over and over is not ingeniousness, it's laziness and utter stupidity.

Formula for every Simpsons plot:

1.) Homer does something stupid

2.) Marge gets pissed. Sometimes leaves him

3.) Homer thinks of ways to get her back on his good side.

4.) A celebrity shows up

5.) A bunch of stupid s*** happens

6.) Marge takes him back after seeing just how much he loves her.

This is the same plot structure they have had since the show began. Homer is stupid, thats why he is funny. ONly onle episode was he smart.

I've gotten to the point where I don't even watch the reruns...maybe its because I associate the show with current episodes, and I don't want to watch those.

Lisa: You stink Strawberry, we want home run Homer!

Bart: Darryl...Darryl.

Bart/Lisa: Darryl...Darryl!

Marge: Kids, that's not very nice

Lisa: Mom, they're professional athletes, they're used to this kind of thing, it rolls right off their back!

Umpire: Okay, let's go over the ground rules. You can't leave first until you chug a beer. Any man scoring has to chug a beer. You have to chug a beer at the top of all odd-numbered innings. Oh, and the fourth inning is the beer inning.

Wiggum: Hey, we know how to play softball!

Probably my favorite episode ever.

Whenever I see the classic episodes it really bothers me becuase it just reminds me of how horrible the show has gotten. The last 6 seasons have almost ruined the previous 11 for me.

I've seen the Family Guy movie. It's pretty good. Not as funny as some of the episodes, but it's still damn funny.

And anyone who still likes the Simpsons: Just you shut your mouth. (You'll know I'm making an allusion after you see the movie.)

EDIT: Family Guy movie, that is.

And I wanted to add one great quote from the Simpsons.

Homer: Clemens, did I make the team?

Clemens: You sure did!

Homer: I did? Woohoo! In your face, Strawberry.

Clemens: Wait a minute, Are you Ken Griffey Jr.?

Homer: No.

Clemens: Sorry, didn't mean to get your hopes up.

Yes, I know. That's why I said something about people who still like the Simpsons in the post before that.

I was looking over an episode list of The Simpsons and found that the last time the show was even remotely funny was at the beginning of Season 11 which was Oct. of '99, 6 f***ing years ago, that was also 130 episodes ago. Also I'm being extremely lenient with this as well, I think the first maybe 6 episodes of that season were kind of funny.

It's sad when a show overstays it's welcome by 6 years and 130 episodes.

This is right on the money.

That show started sucking badly when I was in my late teens. I'm going to turn 27 in November.

IMO, chances are that you're a lame individual if you're tuning in for that crap in 2005. No offense to any lame individuals that post on this board. :D

I wasn't overly impressed with the Family Guy episode but it wasn't bad. The whole James Woods sage with Brian was pretty funny.

Oh yeah, War at Home was mighty funny. I'm gonna have to be a regular watcher of that show. I love the Larry is gay thing with all the drag and what not. Didn't get to see American Dad though....

"Huh,still better than Stienbrenner!"

But yes,the Simpsons really did fall off the radiar the past four years.Although maybe one or two episodes were okay, but that period of time did not produced memorable episodes like the old seasons (most notibaly 4,5,6,and maybe 7th seasons). But I still like Homer and the gang.

Peter and his crew on Sunday was great! That "Family Guy" movie looks funny as hell. But why on DVD?I think it may make a killing at the box office!I always knew that Stewie was a player, but on Sunday,I didn't know he was "Pimpin'"!!!!

They're releasing it to DVD basically as a reward for all of the DVD-buying fans (me included) who quite literally saved the series from the scrap heap due to the shear number of disk's purchased...they actually made Fox realize they could make a lot of money on the show even with poor to average ratings because the DVD's sold so well.
