Seattle seems to have an actual strategy for stopping the Panthers/Smith. Anybody else catch Buck's comment that the Bears were "arrogant" in their single coverage of Smith?

These games haven't been too exciting so far except maybe the end of last week's Steelers-Colts game. Hopefully Delhomme can get his act together and give us a ballgame here.

Buck is right. Either they were arrogant--or incredibly ignorant. It was almost as if Lovie/Rivera were afraid to change the defensive schemes. Why change anything with the defense when it was responsible for their success?

Looks like doubling up on Steve Smith is a good idea after all. Who knew?

Who knows if that would have stopped him -- but first I wish they would have tried singling up on him, at least.

that block in the back call was a very suspicious call, when was the last time you saw a block in the back flag picked up, two weeks in a row, two very suspicious calls

I was thinking the same thing.

do you really think there is some sort of NFL conspiracy in which the refs are being told to help teams win?

Wow, real tough day to be a QB named Jake so far.

Provided that the Seahawks do not punt the ball to Smith again (new strategy punt toward the sidelines/away from Smith) we could have 2 games today that were pretty much decided by halftime.

Hah weird. I never knew Joe Buck went to IU until Aikman said that.

The son of broadcasting legend Jack Buck, he attended Indiana University, studying English and Telecommunications.

I still hate the guy, but a little less now. :D

I hope the Panthers get contracted.

With the double+ teaming on Smith, I think this is where the Panthers really miss Mushim Muhammed.

Though I guess the Bears really needed somebody to take David Terrell's spot.

This game is making the Bears look SOOO bad. I really hate Joe Buck, but LOVED what he said about the Bears being arrogant. God forbid the Bears get off there pedistile and realize the strengths of another team, and not put Russ Thompson on Steve f***ing Smith.

They deserved to get there asses handed to them.

It's frustrating watching this game. Every shot taken at our VAUNTED defense is fine with me. I imagine we'll see many articles out tomorrow further criticizing our coaching staff.

Oh, and how about Trufant not falling down when covering Smith on straight routes? It was amazing to watch.

You know I used to not be able to stand him but after listening to other guys during the playoffs and than the other guys in baseball playoffs he is much better than a lot of them.

I still dont know why he went all pissy pissy about the Randy Moss fake mooning last year though i thought that was hilarious.

There was really only one downfield pass thrown to Smith and Trufant hit him early so it bounced off his shoulder pads. Delhomme is clearly rattled by Seattle's pressure defense, so it's not Smith's fault that the ball is not getting to him.

Double coverage elimanates Steve Smith. Noble concept.

It's amazing how Seattle's defensive line has applied such pressure on Delhomme, whereas ours could barely penetrate.

Steelers/Seahawks should be a good Super Bowl.

Panthers you make me sad. Good run though.

So, because Joe Buck notices the really, really obvious, he's somehow not a prick now?

The Seahawks have had great coverage, but the Bears' was zilch. Night and day.

GREAT time for a flag. I wouldn't mind a few more against Smith.

actually i do, they want close games so more people watch later into the game, so they can make more money from advertising. The league is a business and they want to make as much as they can out of it

Apparently none of the Seahawks like Mike Holmgren enough to waste their Gatorade on him.
