2 pitches one out.

Nice line drive swings here tonight.

Wasn't he pretty awful before that?

He stole 3 or 4 bases the first game after the All Star Break, and since then he pretty much been Chet Lemon.

Hey, 2 pitches passed this inning before the first out!

Sweeney flies out to RF 1 out Stairs up

Baker's ERA is about to drop below 3

He had a streak of like 22 in a row succesfully stolen that ended in early July...right before these struggles began. He stole 2 in the first game back from the break...but after that Cleveland sweep ended...he's just fallen apart on the basepaths.

6-4-3 CLEVELAND WINS 3-1

Please move Paul Konerko back to the 4th spot of the lineup.

Seriously...if Sweeney never got to play against us, he'd never have gotten a big contract and he'd never have played in the AS Game.

Don't worry, I was told they were going to cool off.

Frighteningly, our offense is actually not that bad, we're still like 12th or 13th in the league in runs scored.  Not the Red Sox, but certainly not terrible.

The problem with our offense is that it is still hugely home-run driven...we're 3rd in teh AL in home runs, which is the antethisis of what Ozzie ball was supposed to be.  We've been surprisingly bad this season at manufacturing runs against good pitching.  When you look at a team like the Angels, who have scored virtually the same number of runs as us, they've done it with far fewer home runs, but a lot more base hits.

Our guys are swinging for the fences.  When pitchers throw balls that they can hit, it works like dynamite.  But when the pitcher moves things around and keeps our guys off balance, they look really bad, because they just have not been good at manufacturing things.

Keep in mind we also play in a homer haven park. When guys like Figgins and Erstad go deep in the same game, you know something's not right........I'm not saying ouroffense is BAD, were just not good. Were mediocre at best. IMO

Anyone notice how we're a lineup who relies on the homer, but whenever we play the Twins late in the season, the field always seems like it's 1000 feet deep?

Just incredible.

Big inning for Garland here.

Another sharp line drive caught. Man alive...

Boy, the twinkies announcers are just loving the sox collapse

Just incredible.

Don't let Nick c***o's size fool you. That wasn't a very tough catch, nor was the liner back to Baker before. Jones was the only catch of the game that was a true tough catch.

This is looking fairly reminiscent of the last few years :banghead

If it were the Twins collapsing we'd be giddy.

Can you blame them?

Which means Lew Ford will get a cheap infield single to score a run with 2 outs.

Maybe at some point this organization can find line drive type hitters instead of our guys who seem to love to dip that shoulder and try to golf it over the fence.
