And I would rather see Boston win the AL East than New York, so Boston winning while the Yankees lost is good for me.

Even though someone tried to argue it, the Yankees lost was huge today. It put both of the AL East teams at 64 losses, which guarantees one of them will end up with no less than 66 losses. Thus, Sox have to win 4 to tie, 5 to guarantee.
