We have won inspite of Ozzie this year.  Im sorry but it had to be said.  He doesn't know how to manage a pitching staff.  Marte should never of been out there.

Did you really say that? Everyone is complaining about the lineup and you are crying about Marte trying to get some outs in a meaningless game to get his confidence up? GMAFB, the Sox won.

Whoa, that Borchard thread got closed quick

It was a s***fest waiting to happen.

I know, I laughed pretty hard at your one response in the thread. ;)

Gload continued his superb hitting for the knights getting that big hit. By the way, Gload is the only one that I got his signature during soxfest. YAY!

I count 3 Ross Gload rooters on this post. Where have you been while I've been getting beat up relentlessly in numerous other posts for suggesting that Ozzie actually use Gload??

I know this. Neither Geoff Blum nor Timo Perez could have driven that ball to the wall in the 13th. I hope Gload gets to play again Sunday. Tomorrow I expect Ozzie will have most of his regulars back.

How many times did Gload strike out with a chance to score runs tonite? Gload did nothing to help his chances with me. It took him 13 innings to come through, when he had chances before, like the 1st inning, to do damage.

Actually there's even less reason to play the starters tomorrow. I'd like to see Ozuna start at the very least, though.

Strategically, we probably want to drop 2/3 to the Indians and hope that Boston takes 2/3 from NNY.

That way we guarentee that whoever we face in the ALDS will have at least one starter already used -- and 2 starters if its NNY or BOS.

Of course, Boston might not comply and might sweep or lose 2/3.

I will grant you gload is better than timo and blum; no argument here. I think he's a better hitter than ozuna too, but he still ain't no stud IMO.

That's not necessarily true.

what a crazy, intriguing, unique game this was.

cleveland had everything int he world to play for and they just couldn't put up the runs, wow..........and we thought we had it bad

I hope we play all backups tommorow and dont use guys in the bullpen that we will need for the playoffs. Sunday maybe play some starters so they can get some ab's b4 the playoffs and still be rested.

I've been one of the biggest Gload-backers on this site. I started last year's Gload-O-Meter, whuch spurred the 17 game hit streak.

97 wins in spite of the manager ... Yep, that's logical :rolly

I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that every team has a large number of fans that hate their manager. I've seen tons of "Fire Wedge" posts on the Cleveland boards and I'm sure there's Braves fans that hate Cox because he hasn't won but one World Series. Looking at the names and stats of our lineup, I can't think of many managers that would have won 97 games with it either. I just hope the offseason rejuvenates Ozzie and he learns better how to handle the stresses of a pennant race.
