OAK lost 3-2 after being up 2-0. @OAK 5-4, @OAK 5-1, @BOS 1-3 in 11in (Lowe SP), @BOS 4-5 (Burkett SP), @OAK 3-4 (Pedro). We hit 200HR this year & the A's hit 176HR in 2003. I think that's the difference maker between the two clubs & should come up big in giving us the edge over the BOSOX. I think their 2003 team was better than their 2005 one is.
October 3, 200520 yr After reading sonsofsamhorn it seems that the last few weeks it's been all Manny and Ortiz offensively so we'll see what happens, I am very confident about this series but it's going to be a very good series.
October 4, 200520 yr I'd like nothing better than for the 2005 Red Sox to have the same playoff result as the 2000 White Sox.

October 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) I'd like nothing better than for the 2005 Red Sox to have the same playoff result as the 2000 White Sox. I agree.
October 4, 200520 yr There is a key difference though. The Red Sox hitters have been there and done that. You can't count on them simply falling apart like the Sox did that year. Hopefully they do, but I don't see that many pop ups being hit.
October 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) including the crushing Game Three squeeze bunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last time we played them I think we had 2 of those in a row.
October 4, 200520 yr Author What's most exciting about the 2005 White Sox is that any given night the starter is capable of going the distance. We've got starters that when they get in the groove & hit their spots they make so few mistakes that an opposing team can barely scratch a run out. That's what Reynolds has no appreciation of & can't seem to understand. I don't care how good your lineup is. Great pitching can ALWAYS shut down great hitting.
October 8, 200520 yr QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:57 AM) Thought I'd bump this, kind of scary how right on the money this thread was. Yeah it is. Right down to the squeeze. Eerie to say the least.
