AL Central Champs T-shirts

I was at a local sports store today, just scoping out some of the White Sox gear, when I noticed that all of the AL Central Champs t-shirts with players names on the backs were on sale for $7.50.

I asked why this was, and under infielders they forgot to list JOE CREDE. I don't know if this was universal or if it was just a random batch of shirts, but I felt pretty bad for Joe.

They even included Blum! But no Crede!

I read that they started making the shirts when Crede was on the DL and they took the current roster at that time.

It's universal unfortunately.

s***, I'm just surprised you found a store that actually had AL Central Champs stuff.

All the stores by me CLAIM to be sold out, but I've never seen one shirt or one empty rack at their stores.

When MLB made the shirts, they were making the shirts based off a roster on which Joe was excluded because he was on the DL with his injured hand or whatever it was.

Regardless, it's a huge error by MLB.

I got my info for Scott Reifert's "Inside the White Sox" blog...Here's what he had to say...

---------------------

Crede T-Shirt

Some have noticed that one version of the Division Championship t-shirt on sale at the ballpark omits Joe Crede's name from the roster. The shirts were produced by an MLB supplier at the time Joe was on the disabled list, so when they pulled the roster for the t-shirt, his name did not show up.

Just prior to game time, Joe was busy with a white magic marker adding his name to thousands of shirts. We figured they would be worth more this way.
