No Tracy. :crying

Probably Delgado.

Call me stupid but I'm not sure who all of them are. I need the names, haha.

Giles, he will hit 20-25 homers, but fills our biggest need: a high OPB and AVE player. He would be the ideal pick for a DH/OF or a full-time OF if we trade Rowand or Pods.

Delago, Giles, Thome, and Helton.

Delgado, Giles, Thome and Helton are the first 4.

OK thanks, I knew Thome and Delgado. I guess it's just hard for me to invision them in Sox uniforms, I should've known the others though.

Konerko is the 5th choice, but I didn't realize that before voting.

oh, then I'd take Konerko instead of Delgado.

ill take delgado any day of the week, he is a left handed power bat the sox need. I would not want thome because he's done and always injured

Depending upon cost, contracts, and age, it really becomes a tough decision.

All things neutral...I take Delgado in a second. But all things aren't neutral - a Delgado trade is gonna involve a couple solid arms heading Florida's way, along with perhaps Rowand/Anderson. Is that worth Delgado alone?

Giles is probably my second choice, but is also probably the most unlikely. Signing Giles would be a huge risk though, in that either he or Dye has to play 1B, and there is no guarantee that either are going to be successful there.

Thome is anywhere from low-very high, low-very high reward. So much of it depends upon how much Philly is asking and how much they are willing to take on. He's either gonna make some GM look really good, or really, really bad.

Helton I like, but he has a no-trade clause, and he wants to stay on Colorado. I see no way a trade works out there.

Konerko, if that's who the last one is, is another in the air. If he truly wants like 5-70 or 6-72, and he can get it, he f***in gawn. I am not sure I see Konerko being successful after year 3 of any deal, so having him around for 6 years kills. If he is willing to go more in the neighborhood of say 4-60, I'm not sure how the Sox can say no. It's a hell of a lot of money, but it's a hell of a lot safer than stretching the deal out over 5-6 years.

At this point...I have no idea. I'd probably prefer Delgado, depending upon what Florida's asking. Other than that, I'm looking Konerko than Thome.

Thome

Delgado

Helton

Konerko

Giles

I would no doubt be happy with any of these. Can't go wrong with those choices

I took Delgado... but if Colorado paid for a chunk of Helton's contract, I'd want him.

Wow, good job on the photoshopping. I would say either Delgado or Giles.

I would have to go with Delgado.

Delgado, hands down.

Helluva photoshop job on Helton.

I'll say Giles, because he'll only cost money, followed closely by Delgado.

Konerko will be washed up in 3 years? Yet, in 3 years, he will still be younger than any of the guys on the list are right now, with the excpetion of Helton who's the same age Paulie will be in 3 years.

Paulie would be my first choice because he is the youngest and wouldn't require any players. The rest is somewhat murky in my book. Delgado is probably the second best player to get, but he's also got some major money due and would cost us in talent. He definitely drops to last in my book if they make us take Lowell. However, if we could get him for somewhere between $10 and $12 mil a year without giving up crucial players (something like Marte, Hernandez, and Rowand or Anderson), I'd rank him second. Thome would probably be next purely because he would be cheaper. He's more of a high risk/high reward type player. It looks like we might be able to get him for well under $10 mil a year without giving up a ton of talent, which is very intriguing. Giles probably falls next in line. While I like him as a hitter, he doesn't have as much power potential as the other guys anymore, and I think he's getting somewhat close to a serious decline. The other issue is he probably fits better as a full-time corner OF then as the DH, meaning he'd make more sense if Dye were moving to first. Helton probably comes in last because there is just a ton of money left on his deal. Also, he could be in for a power drop without the thin air, and his average might drop also without such a large outfield for opposing players to cover. However, he is an intriguing player if we can drop his salary significantly and not give up a ton of talent.

The more interesting question would be if we put Overbay and Dunn on this list also. Most of these players seem to be very similar, in that they will cost us a ton of money but maybe not as much in terms of talent.

Big Paulie.

I would rather go down with the guys who brought us to the top.

Paulie.

Out of those pictures, I want Helton but honestly, I'd rather have PK back.

Am I the only one who would pick Helton or Delgado By a landslide? :huh I would rather have Helton out of the 2.

If money and everything is no object, I'm taking Todd Helton. The guy is the best pure hitter on that board and can hit for power as well. I'm not going to get into the whole coors field inflation, but put him on a good team and I think he'd put up ridiculous numbers once again.
