November 8, 200520 yr I have no problem with Colon winning it...he had a hell of a year. But Mark and Jon only getting 5 and 1 THIRD PLACE VOTE repectively? C'mon. That's ridiculous.
November 8, 200520 yr eh - colon deserved it big time... i dont care if burhle or garland got any votes at all... it matters not yoda say.
November 8, 200520 yr Not suprising in the least. I figured the voting would turn out about this way. And once again, another correct prediction for me
November 8, 200520 yr f*** the Cy Young. Mark and Jon have something a hell of a lot better than Colon, Santana and Cliff f***in' Lee.
November 8, 200520 yr He could've been ours. But who knows what happened in the alternative universe where we resigned Colon. I'm happy enough with the results in this universe to not mind not having Cy Young.
November 8, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) I am glad to see Colon got it over Mariano. Definitely. Colon is a horse.... and not just in the size department.
November 8, 200520 yr Yeah, we'll get no awards but will have won the World Series...no bias against us. Obviously I expected Colon to get it and he should have. But no gold gloves, no cy young, no executive of the year....NOTHING...oh, except the most important one... Edited November 8, 200520 yr by tonyho7476
November 8, 200520 yr Is Exec of Year even a MLB award...??? Now.. stepping back.. I don't see anyone that won anything not deserving of it - yes, even Hunter.

Not sure on Exec of the year...but come on, the guy rehabbed the whole team this off-season and won the world series. Cleveland made pretty much no moves in the off-season...and fell on their face at the end. I don't understand these people.

I'm not one to b**** about individual awards because I just don't care all that much. But Torii Hunter in no way, shape or form deserved to win a GG this year. He won it strickly based on reputation when a guy like Mark Kotsay who had a much better defenive season and played 41 more games than Hunter gets shafted. The GG has been a joke since '99 but that's no excuse to continuously f*** over deserving players. Edited November 8, 200520 yr by Kalapse
November 8, 200520 yr QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) Who cares... To be honest, I don't...I like the shiny trophy we got...but recognition is nice... right back at ya
November 8, 200520 yr Maybe Jenks could win over-weight closer of the year? Oh wait, Wickman would get that. Damn those Indians!
November 8, 200520 yr Garland and Buehrle pretty much cancelled each other out. It was pretty much the entire rotation that was part of their strength this year. Which one would I pick? World Series Trophy Post-Season Awards
November 8, 200520 yr QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) I guess we differ then, because I think Mark Kotsay deserved it more, but whatever.

November 8, 200520 yr Let Andre the Giant have his Cy Young. We weren't built for individual awards anyways.
November 8, 200520 yr Next year...we will have 4 guys in the top 8 in the Cy Young voting unless one of them is traded first. It will be a sight to behold. And Mark will win. I am glad he got it over Rivera though.
November 8, 200520 yr QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Set your sarcasm meter a little higher Steff. Doh..
November 8, 200520 yr Why did Cliff lee get more votes then Mark? I know he had to more wins, but Mark had a better ERA...312 to 3.79 More innings pitched 236 to 202 and was on a division winner..What's the thought process behind that. Even Garland should have been voter higher..had the same amount of wins..better ERA and more innings pitched.. Man, people have a real hard on for the Indians..
