December 5, 200520 yr i am completely surprise in the activity that cle is making in offseason. how much ground has cle made up on the sox? i think it is going to be a tough yr next yr.
December 5, 200520 yr So Paul Byrd is an upgrade over Kevin Millwood and Scott Elarton? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's the only move Cleveland has made right? They still need a closer, right fielder, and maybe a first baseman.

Well they are supposedly going to sign Hoffman too and he is still good although prob wont be as good as Wickman was last season. And id assume they are only going to upgrade one of those positions not both.

Are you drinking? You sound like you're 8 years old. Cleveland has signed Paul Byrd, uh-oh watch out. Edited December 5, 200520 yr by TheHawkaroo

A few weeks ago, everyone thought Giles was done in San Diego, but it wasn't the case. But then Kevin Towers and Sandy Alderson had to offer him 2 years $10M in this current market didn't they. OOPS.
December 6, 200520 yr For some reason, I think this thread is meant to be green, but I'm not too sure

Hoffman will take a hometown discount and 2yr 16 mill would do it (I think he'd take a year less or even do something like a 3yr 18 mill deal).

Byrd is a solid pitcher but Millwood was flat out awesome for them. Howry and Wickman were also outstanding for the tribe last year, there is a good shot they will lose all three.
December 6, 200520 yr Lets not forget Byrd was the only pitcher able to beat us in the playoffs DAMN Byrd- I wanted to go 11-0!

December 6, 200520 yr Buy or sell? The 06 Indian pitching staff will be better than 05. As good as Millwood was, I don't see anyone (especially not Paul Byrd) filling his shoes.
