Cubs/Red Sox/Mariners Trade Possible

A reliable source told me today about a three-way deal that is "imminent."  It's always risky to throw around "imminent," but I'm just quoting him here.

 

Here's the scenario:

 

BOS gives: Bronson Arroyo, Tony Graffanino, PTBNL

 

BOS gets: Jeremy Reed, Will Ohman

 

CHC gives: Corey Patterson, Ohman

 

CHC gets: Raul Ibanez, Graffanino, cash

 

SEA gives: Reed, Ibanez, cash

 

SEA gets: Arroyo, Patterson, PTBNL

 

Makes sense for Seattle, they want to beef up there pitching (although Arroyo is not that good) and Patterson is worth the gamble.

Makes sense for Boston, they get a player with tons of potential in Reed.

Makes NO sense for the sCrubs. Where would Ibanez play LF? He's nothing special, and what would Graff do platoon with Walker? I hope for Graffs sake he doesn't get traded there.

They do, however when you site a fan message board as an outlet for a "source" for a trade IMO you lose all credibility. Think of all the bogus trade crap and wishful thinking that goes on message boards.

Its a crap site, bascially they just make up rumors. Pretty unreliable and a pretty far-fetched rumor IMO.

Still, Boston is in desperate need of a CF, and the odds are Dusty still doesn't want to play Murton or Pie in the OF, so it's at least plausible. If I were the Cubs I'd make sure to get some money along with that though.

i've never visited this site prior to today, but it reminds me a lot of that profootballtalk.com site in the sense that it's a total joke.

The site is a joke, but Graffinino accepted arbitration so I believe he can be traded.
