Is another 200+ innings guy. * Thinks El Duque really helped Contreras last season and hopes it isn't a factor for this season. * Doesn't care about personal stats like W's. Just wants the team to win. * Thinks we have 5 or 6 quality lefty candidates to win the second lefty job but doesn't think it will be a problem if we only have one lefty in the bullpen. * Doesn't like the WBC due to injuries from pitching too many innings. Says he's worried more about winning another World Series than winning a WBC. * Not worried about Jenks sophomore season because he has nasty stuff. If his fastball starts to get hit he can just throw another pitch like his curveball. Says that Jenks threw 7 different pitches today at camp. * Talked about Dick Cheney and safety when pheasant hunting. Have to watch out from shooting the hunting dogs.

February 18, 200620 yr I know Jenks was working on a slider. Maybe Buehrle showed him how to throw a cutter or Contreras showed him how to throw a splitter and/or forkball.

February 18, 200620 yr Doesn't care about personal stats like W's. Given how many times Buehrle took the ND or L last year in a good performance, I don't blame him. Although calling a pitcher's win/loss record "personal" is a known "no no" around me!
