Pick your Dream Sports Radio Lineup

Featured Replies

Spending over two hours a day driving from lake bluff to work, I get to listen to a lot of sports radio. It got me thinking, If I were the head of my own station, Who would I pick? here's the list of who I would need:

Boers and Bernstein,

Tony Kornheiser

Lawrence Holmes

Zach Zaidman (maybe the best, most knowledgable guy radio personality in town)

Dan McNeil

Harry Tinowitz

Todd Wright (used to do the all night show on 1000)

Carmen DeFalco

Mike Greenburg

Sox Team: Rooney and Farmer (of course)

Bears: Jeff Joniak

Here is who would be forever banned from my station:

Mike North

Mike Murphy

Jurko

Marc Silverman

Mike North

Fred Huebner

Jim Rome

Mike North

Doug Buffone

Lou Canellis

Joe Bartosch

Mike North

Tony Bruno morning extravaganza 6-10

Jim Daniels midday drive 10-2

Dan Patrick with Rob Dibble 2-6

Mac Jurko and Harry 6-10

That would be my ideal listening day in which I could turn on the radio at any time and be happy with what I was listening to.

I'd have the Herd for about six hours a day.

The rest of the lineup I could care less about.

(Amanda isn't half bad either.)

Bears: Jeff Joniak

My last name is Joniak, im from illinois, Our family thought he was our long lost relative!

But we never got a chance to talk to him, it was amazing how many people would tell me "Do you know Jeff Joniak?"

But good post, this shud get intresting

Pat Foley and John Rooney 24/7

So, what you're saying is, you wouldn't want Mike North?

Colin Cowheard or whatever it is rocks. I got that on the radio every morning.

Seriously, sports radio is few and far between out here. We get local coverage from just one station back home. I'm not above watching Mike and Mike in the Morning, however.

Bring back Tommie Williams, I enjoy Silvy and Carmen, Lawrence Holmes is very good, Mac, Jurko, and Harry are all good, and give me 3 hours a day of Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann somehow. As for everybody else, you can pretty much send them to radio hell, because they all suck.

Kevin Wheeler 24 hours a day :crying

Kevin Wheeler 24 hours a day  :crying

Why did he get booted from Sporting News Radio's late night programming? Do you know the story behind that? Wheeler was great and he got replaced by a complete no-talent tool (David Stein).

I really hate Mike North. It might be the crowd I run with, but I don't know anyone who can stand him. I guess he must be popular somewhere, because the Score wouldn't keep him...

If I wanted to listen to some uneducated moron with no experience in sports, I'd sadle up next to the drunk yokel at the american legion... and furthermore, he only talks sports like 50% of the time; the rest of his show is committed to his inane rants about his own personal politics.

My dream would be that every sports talk radio station on the planet go off the air forever.

Les Grobstein

Kevin Wheeler

Lawrence Holmes

Tommy Williams

Jonathon Hood

Tony Kornheiser

Jiggets and North ( Only if they are together, talking sports only)

Mcneil and Boers

"Papa Joe” Chevalier

Arnie Spanier

Both good shows

Mike and Mike in the morning 6-10

no radio in between for me

Mike and the Mad Dog in the afternoon 1-6, the best radio crew of all time.

Simple-make 670 disappear-Sox back on 1000

Lawrence Holmes and Dan Zampillo

I loved the Me and Z Show, they use to get the craziest calls and they actually had some knowledge about sports unlike others at the Score.

(Also the old B&B show wouldn't be half bad to listen to)

Mac Jurco and Harry is the best show on the radio, too bad all I get in Madison is damn 670 (thats good this year though). The one show on 670 that is worth a damn is the Lawrence Holmes show, he's actually pretty damn amusing and intelligent (quite a change of pace from what you hear from 6 AM - 6 PM). The two shows I absolutely refuse to listen to are North and Murphy, how do they stay on the air?
