Im gonna go out on a limb and say history is made today. Oral Roberts over Memphis. Its gotta happen sometime.

 

It'd be cool to see happen, but I think that Memphis has heard enough about it too that they'll make sure it doesn't happen. But like you said, it's gotta happen sometime. There's no way the 1's will ALWAYS survive that first game.

I have them going to the final 4, but only because I had some doubts about UCLA when making my picks. I also think that Kansas is just too young a team, and Zaga has no defense.

We must have the same brackets. What an awful day.

Every team that I've missed other than Iowa and Seton Hall I had losing in the second round anyway (although I had Iowa going to the final game, so yea..), and Kansas losing in the S16. I have UNC in the Elite 8, but am still rooting for Murray State.

Kansas isn't doing ANYTHING to help themselves.

                #11 SIU over #6 West Virginia

                #12 Kent State over #5 Pittsburgh

                #15 Winthrop over #2 Tennessee (which leads Wichita St. to the S16)

                #11 UWM over #6 Oklahoma

 

2 for 5, with a narrow miss on 3 for 5 ain't bad. Ugh, I almost took NW State instead of Winthrop and Bradley instead of SIU. Maybe I shouldn't have stuck with my 1st instinct...

Hey not bad. I got 2 right (although Wichita State beat Tennessee, but close enough with how close Winthrop was) and would have had a shot at 3 for 4 if not for 41 to 6. As for Marquette....oops!! Although UCLA did narrowly survive Alabama, who I almost picked to beat Marquette and UCLA .

There are some weird ones in here, so I don't feel so bad anymore.

 

I like a lot of the 11 seeds. I got SIU, San Diego State, and UW-Milwaukee in the second round, with San Diego State also taking down Gonzaga (yeah, I know, that's a bit of a stretch). I'm also sorely tempted to pick them to beat UCLA, but that is seriously pushing it.

 

I've got Kansas taking down Memphis and UCLA. I also have Florida in the Final Four. I guess those are only mild upsets.

 

I've got Wichita State over Tennessee.

 

I've got Georgetown over OSU.

 

I'm seriously considering taking GW over Duke. If I can get any indication that Mensah-Bonsu is even close to healty, I think I'm going to do it. If I don't I'll almost certainly have LSU taking them down.

 

Only 1 out of 3 on the 11 seeds, and I guess SDSU counts as two losses.

 

Big loss on Kansas, but I'm not counting it since that really wasn't an upset pick anyways.

 

Nailed the two 7's over 2's listed here, but lost my Marquette in the Elite 8 pick. I'm glad I didn't take GW in the long run.

 

The only one I wish I didn't do was Marquette.

Well I know your a bit of a west coast homer AND an Iowa fan, so I'll let it slide .  But let me say this, IF Washington gets by Utah State, the Huskies would be the 6th best team in the Big 10 this year.  Put that on the floor agianst Illinois, and I think the Huskies best shot would be to show up in Penn State road uni's. 

 

With that said, the 2nd Huskies we will play won't be very fun, seeing as those Huskies are going to win the whole damned thing.

Just want to point out, as the lone person who actually backed this west coast basketball, that I may know more that some of you thought I once did.

 

That said Iowa f***ing CHOKED. They lost on a lucky shot, but it was there own damn fault since they blew that big league.

If you had told me we'd get 28 less free throw chances, I'd have said we lose by 15. So there . And there still won't be a single team from west of Austin, Texas in the Final 4.
