I was wondering if we could get some feedback from y'all on our new front page. It's in a starter mode, still, but I love the podcasts and we're always wondering what you all would like to see.

I use it for the links to things like Palehose 6. I read the stories, but usually someone posts them here so that keeps me from going over there more often.

I use the firesox extension and jump directly to the forums.

I've recently started going to the FP because of the new stuff being added. I used to jump right to the forums.

I think if we keep it fresh, more people would use the front page.

Let us know what things you all would like to see.

I like it and check it daily. The challenge is to keep getting timely articles.

I agree. We've got some ideas for some new things to try, so I'll begin to help with the maintaining of the frontpage.

But as a spectator, I enjoy the articles and everything. And I do like it, when it's kept fresh. I like what Boz has been doing to the main block, by updating that daily through the start of the Cubs series and the beginning of the Oakland series.

I also find the Sox news article links very beneficial, having all those in one spot.

Ya, we are going to work on getting a few more people involved in our updating process. Boz has been awesome as of late and Greasy is now being taught the ways from Boz.

We also have had some great commentaries from Alex and Mike as well as scooped a story or two. In the future we will start having some short series previews as a way for people to keep up with things and we will also start linking people to yahoo recaps.

That way Soxtalk can really be a place you can come and find all the news (a recap to see what happened...written by the AP, a preview by us talking about the other team...updated standings on the front page...plus original commentaries and the ocassional breaking news story).

Hey, how long has the user box at the bottom of the page been back?

So glad they put that back! I think just today.

Anyway, no I rarely ever read the first page. The only thing I ever read are the Future Sox articles and every once in awhile the Hot or Not articles.

Maybe 10 minutes...

The new upgrade seems to allow it to work. Now, hopefully after our last upgrade which should be soon, the search might work.

Sooner then you even thought, eh? :P

Ah, but it goes down for the greater good, man. :)

Listen... I want to throw this out there. We're not going to be a live feed or anything like whitesox.com is... but we want this to be where you get all your Sox info. Maybe not stats, etc. but just the news and talk of all things Sox. I think we're well on the way - from pre-series notes, to daily banners, to of course all of your discussion... keep giving us ideas, folks. It's your site.

Kap

Going forward we have a lot of good things planned for the main page.

Now that we have more people who are capable of updating as well as writing for us, I expect the front page to ultimately become the portal for the site where everyone goes first.

No, I'm not changing my damn bookmark

I think it wud be beneficial to have some sort of "photo" link for the front page. It would get more people going there.

like cubsfun.com I always check that guys blog just cause the photos are hilarious. Don't get me wrong, the info on soxtalk's front page is very-worth reading, i just dont get attracted to reading info etc. when i could interact with it on message boards.

but to answer the question. Every now and then i do check an article or two. Its a good front page, and done very well.

I just changed my bookmark to the front page.
