You guys are awesome

This is the email I sent to Hawk and DJ tonight. It was a little late, as I got stuck in a committee meeting, but hopefully it got read on the air. If not, I want you all to see it, and know how proud I am of the effort that was put forth again this year.

Hey Hawk and DJ:

It was this time last year that I sent you an email to give praise to the effort of a dedicated group of Sox fans for the awesome effort they made getting Scotty Pods to the All-Star game on the last man voting. Well in 2006, once again these guys pulled out all of the stops and voted their butts off again. These people voted from the second the ballots came up Sunday nite, until the voting closed today, and even came up with strategies for making sure that AJ got the most votes possible to get him to Pittsburgh with the rest of his teammates. So once again could you send out a special "Yes" to all of the people at Soxtalk.com for another incredible job in the proud Chicago tradition of "vote early, vote often". I can't wait to see who we can put on the All-Star team in 2007.

Was it read?

I showered through much of the game, and have been preoccupied with other things.

Mike........yo' the greatest!

Showering? For 3 hours? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight... ;)

I'm surprised your wrists don't hurt after all that voting.

I have been watching the game since the 3rd inning, I dont recall hearing anything. Nice letter though!

I did not hear it get read, but I didn't get it sent until the 6th inning either.

You might get it read during tomorrows game. I'll be listening.

Yep, I wanted to say kudos to everyone out there who voted for AJP. Great job guys!!!

We're probably gonna have to vote Joe Crede in next year.

i was so happy when i heard...i voted for damn near an hour yesterday...you start going a little crazy around vote 60...i don't know why people said it capped at 25 cause mine kept goin.

Actually, the voting was very easy on my hands and wrists. I didn't have a single complaint after voting, and I spent a ton of hours voting over these last few days.

And no, I wasn't showering for three hours. :P

I had other things to do.

Would you believe me if I said I was playing with my cats and writing poetry?

I think that might be even worse than a three hour "shower..." :P

Fantastic effort from every single person on here who voted for A.J.

It shows how devoted our fanbase has been to our team and these types of things from Scotty last season to A.J this season. :cheers

Hell yeah!!! :headbang :headbang It would have really sucked if all that time spent went to waste.

Excellent job everyone :)

reading people's responses on the ESPN Morning Quickie chat not many people are happy with AJ making it..it is almost somewhat amusing how angry some people are

Sox fans>America.

To the point about how angry some people are, that's another reason why I love it: it's like a big middle finger to the ESPN-obsessed, east-coast-biased country.

That said, Liriano is surely a deserving candidate and should be on the team, but as I've explained to a few people, when it comes to fan voting, it's not ABOUT who SHOULD be on the team, it's about who gets out the vote.

Not that AJ shouldn't be there; he's IMO our heart and soul and a damn good player.

But as I told a co-worker, if you don't like the result, how do you live with the Grammys, the Oscars, the VMAs, etc...

All I can say is this...

If the other fans were truly "fans" they would have tried harder.

But no one tries harder or works harder than White Sox fans!!

Play better next year, Liriano! :D

Practice your election-rigging this year, Minnesota, and come back in 365.
