If Ozzie says anything to Jon for missing on two throws...thats it, its over. Jon was trying to and both of his pitches moved out of the way.

 

Inning over but Hawk needs to be quiet. Marsh did exactly what he had to do there. Jon threw two pitches behind Kinsler and we all knew what they meant. If Marsh ignored it than your asking for a player or a bigger situation to arise.

 

Thankfully we have DJ in the booth...its becoming more and more clear just how much Hawk holds back DJ. I like Hawk most of the time, but DJ is so much smarter baseball wise.

Garland throws a pitch that looks like the JFK Magic Bullet.

It's amazing how pitchers can hit locations within a 1ft by 1ft box, but yet, can't hit a standing body.

 

I wouldn't suggest retaliation was necessary, but cmon -- it looks even more pathetic if Kinsler is sitting still in the box and fastballs are thrown behind him.

It's very nice to see us score without the use of a homer this inning. Good job by Gload/Ozzie to get us a run.

Right there is why I'm a big fan of Gload. Gload knows how to handle a bat, is a good contact hitter and can spray the ball to all parts of the fields. He also relatively quick and isn't that horrible of a corner outfielder in a pinch (although we never use him in those parts anymore).

 

And yes, I am and have been for a long time a big Ross Gload supporter because I think he can do all the little things and than some.

 

One note on Padilla, our hitters need to let the ump call the high strike because we have no chance hitting Padilla's fastball when he's getting it right near the letters.

 

Either see if the ump will call it or don't swing. Hopefully more often than not its called a ball and it will force Padilla to start throwing the ball a bit more down in the zone, making him more hittable.

I actually think its hard. Your pitching and now you got to take something off and aim somewhere you don't usually aim to. Think of it like when players throw an intentional walk and how much trouble they have.

 

Jon had a convo with Ozzie and I'm dead serious when i say this and I have some other knowledge on the subject, but if Ozzie goes off on Jon thats it, I vote for him to be fired immediately because i Didn't condone what happened to Tracey and I sure as hell wouldn't condone it if he did the same to Jon.

Ya, he's in a tough spot. Personally speaking I'd probably dump Pods, use Mack a lot in LF and find a RH batter that could also play and than on ocassions I'd have Mack play against tough Righties with BA getting the day off and than that right hander playing left against tough righties.

 

I think that would be more effective than Pods, the only problem is we wouldn't have a leadoff hitter.

I understand making a point, but you can't possibly tell me that Jon was trying to not hit Kinsler. Fact is he missed, just like Tracey tried to hit but missed. Stuff happens, get over it.

 

Instead Ozz completely over-reacts and may have just jacked our best starter's magic up (we shall see how he reacts).

I don't tolerate some things and I honestly think some people are right when Ozzie can really blow things out of proportion and bring things down. Usually when he's doing it he's protecting players and its a good thing, but when he's berating his own for not hitting a guy (when they tried to), well than I have a problem.

 

I don't mind if Ozzie goes over, asks what happens, Jon goes I tried and Guillen goes, next time get em. No need to do anything more than that. Now if Jon just ignored it the whole game, than thats another story.

Yes, it was really bad. Thome actually walked close to it, in case he needed to break up the conversation.

Definitely. The manager who led the team to its first World Series title since 1917 should get removed for yelling at a pitcher who can't complete a simple order.
