August 4, 200619 yr Duke...lol Also since my team isn't exactly a BCS contender year in year out I usually adopt a team at the beginning of every year. This year: West Virginia. Edited August 4, 200619 yr by WHarris1
August 4, 200619 yr Michigan not in the top 10 is a joke. They probably won't finish there anyway. Ranking come out way to early, IMO.
August 4, 200619 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) Michigan not in the top 10 is a joke. It would be pretty tough to justify them over any of the teams in the top 10
August 4, 200619 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) Michigan not in the top 10 is a joke. Did you watch them, or any of the teams in the top 10, play last season?? Although I do agree the polls come out too early.
August 4, 200619 yr I would give anything for another Ohio State championship! Beating Miami just kicked ass! We just need to hold that #1 spot and we'll win it again! Lead us to victory Jimmy!
August 4, 200619 yr QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) We just need to hold that #1 spot and we'll win it again! Yup, that's the idea.
August 4, 200619 yr well, i guess it's time for my yearly rant about them starting the poll too early. it is nonsensical to have a poll now. why not wait until four weeks into the season when we start hashing out how good these teams really are? ok, now i have that out of my system. go illinois! (please.)
August 4, 200619 yr I'll be going to my first non Northwestern football games this season. Even though I hate the Illini, I already got tix for Illinois-Iowa and hopefully for Illinois-OSU....ahem Steve.
August 4, 200619 yr QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) I will be there Ok, so then I won't go to that game.
August 4, 200619 yr QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) Ok, so then I won't go to that game. Thank God
August 4, 200619 yr I can't wait for OSU to drop from the #1 spot, nor can I wait until September 30th, when Michigan comes to Minnesota and we beat them up. Basically, I can't wait for this year to start. Season tickets ftw!
August 4, 200619 yr Man, I can not wait til September 4th. FSU's national title hopes start and end there. If we can beat Miami, the schedule favors us to go on a role until the last game of the season against Florida. I know I'll be at all 8 of the home games and hopefully two games on the road. I am so pumped. This season rides on the O-line though. We need them to come together and open the holes for Booker and Smith. They also need to keep preasure off of Weatherford. If they do that, I really think Weatherford will have another great season and be a Heisman hopefull next year.
August 4, 200619 yr I think that's a good spot for Iowa. They'll be fine if they keep giving Young the ball.
August 4, 200619 yr QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) I'll be going to my first non Northwestern football games this season. Even though I hate the Illini, I already got tix for Illinois-Iowa and hopefully for Illinois-OSU....ahem Steve. I didn't know you were an NU guy... They might sneak into another bowl game if they find a quarterback. God, I can't wait for the first game. Tailgating!
August 4, 200619 yr 6. Auburn (1) 0-0 1,206 Wisconsin 37 I guess that is what I expect though as Wisconsin is dicked in the preseason rankings ever year. I mean when Auburn and Wisconsin played, Auburn was ranked 7, Wisconsin was ranked 21. End result, Wisconsin 24 Auburn 10. I can understand the loss of Calhoun and most of the WR making it so that Wisconsin is in the low top 25, but how they justify not even putting Wisconsin in the top 25 is mind boggling. In that game with Auburn, Auburn failed to rush for 100 yards and only passed for 137. Compared to Wisconsin who ran for 247 yards (more than Auburn gained) and passed for 301.
August 4, 200619 yr Yeah, Steve Spurrier always gives Duke a vote in the polls. He used to work there, and it's his way of saying, "Hey look how great I made that crappy Duke program for a while." I am getting the ESPN Gameplan package for the first time this year. I finally get to see some UNC games on TV this year, as if anyone else cares. For the fun of it, here's my prediction on my two teams win-loss totals this year. UNC W Sept. 2 Rutgers Chapel Hill 3:30/ABC W Sept. 9 Virginia Tech Chapel Hill Noon/ESPN W Sept. 16 Furman Chapel Hill 7:00/ESPNU L Sept. 23 Clemson Clemson, S.C. L Oct. 7 Miami Coral Gables, Fla. W Oct. 14 South Florida Chapel Hill W Oct. 19 Virginia Charlottesville, Va. 7:30/ESPN W Oct. 28 Wake Forest Chapel Hill L Nov. 4 Notre Dame South Bend, Ind. 2:30/NBC W Nov. 11 Georgia Tech Chapel Hill W Nov. 18 NC State Chapel Hill W Nov. 25 Duke 9-3 Texas Tech W Sep 2 Southern Methodist 7:00 PM ET W Sep 9 @UTEP 9:00 PM ET L Sep 16 @TCU 5:30 PM ET W Sep 23 Southeastern Louisiana 7:00 PM ET W Sep 30 @Texas A&M 7:00 PM ET W Oct 7 Missouri 7:00 PM ET W Oct 14 @Colorado TBD L Oct 21 @Iowa State 1:00 PM ET W Oct 28 Texas 2:00 PM ET W Nov 4 Baylor 2:00 PM ET W Nov 11 @Oklahoma 1:00 PM ET W Nov 18 Oklahoma State 2:00 PM ET 10-2, but I could easily see the two losses being to teams like the normal UT, OU, or even at Colorado. Should be a heck of a year in the Big 12 with about 5 teams thinking they have a legitimate shot at the Big 12 South, and quite a few in the North. Edited August 4, 200619 yr by Palehosefan

God, I can't wait for the first game. Tailgating! Ya, I've liked NU my whole life. That being said, they're probably my favorite major sports team that I follow the least. Still, I'll cheer for them all the time and besides the Sox playoff games I went to this year, the coolest sporting event I was ever at was the Atrain fumble game. That game was just ridiculous and awesome.

August 4, 200619 yr I am really happy we don't play UNC this year. They're going to be a lot better than people are giving them credit for. Should be a fun year. Bunting had great success his first year, then a few miserable years, then a 12-12 record the last two years against ridiculous schedules. This year the only two games I see being out of reach at the moment are at Miami and at Notre Dame, then again Miami doesn't get the best crowd support at home games, so who knows.

You plan on losing to Iowa State but beating Texas and Oklahoma? I could go for that. I'm still gonna be surprised if we beat any South team.
