August 13, 200619 yr I went with the Astros. They know how to get it done, I believe Lidge is pitching better, and with Clemens, Petite and Oswalt, they have a pitching advantage over any of those teams. FWIW I think the Dodgers will win the West
August 13, 200619 yr Astros. I wouldn't mind seeing our Sox sweep the 'Stros again in the World Series. That is if both teams can make it to the playoffs.
August 14, 200619 yr I voted for Cincy, but I starting to think Cincy might just win the NL central and muddy the whole thing up. Cincy is now only 1 1/2 back of the struggling Cards.
August 14, 200619 yr QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 07:13 PM) Cardinals when the Reds take the Central. That's my vote, but if Mulder somes back and throws well, it won't happen. Edited August 14, 200619 yr by Leonard Zelig
August 14, 200619 yr I'd like to see the Reds win it, because they weren't expected to contend. Also, I was impressed with the way they revamped their bullpen before the deadline when "there weren't any quality relievers available."
August 14, 200619 yr QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 08:46 PM) The Reds, though I'd like to see the Rockies make it. Gage would too.
August 14, 200619 yr Gotta go with the reds always been a fan of their team they are fun to watch but I also wouldnt mind seeing the rockies too. im heartbroken i immediately wished to pick cubs
August 14, 200619 yr QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) I'd like to see the Reds win it, because they weren't expected to contend. Also, I was impressed with the way they revamped their bullpen before the deadline when "there weren't any quality relievers available." Great point, I'll go ESPN conspiracy on that and think this myth is being spread because the Red Sox bullpen is terrible and they didn't get any of the guys that went to Cincy or even MacDougal. There were some decent pen arms that moved at or near the deadline.
August 14, 200619 yr The guy the Reds have gotten a boost from so far is Kyle Lohse. He's made 3 starts for them IIRC and has been pretty good in all of them, he could be another guy they get some great work from after coming over from the AL a la Bronson Arroyo, and that could be the difference in races as close as the NL Central and Wild Card.
