August 27, 200619 yr Will Konerko hit 40 home runs? If he does, I believe he will be the first White Sox player ever to hit 40 home runs in 3 straight years. So, over/under: Will Konerko hit 40 homers?
August 27, 200619 yr He'll need a hot-as-hell September to get 40. So I hope he does it, but I'm guessing "under" as well.
August 27, 200619 yr If he does, it means very good things will be happening for this team. Unfortunately I have to take the under.
August 27, 200619 yr He won't even get 35. If he tries to go long ball, the Sox are done. He just has to do whatever necessary to put the ball in play.
August 27, 200619 yr I'll take the .300/30/100 he's on track for every year. So very, very glad we re-signed him.
August 27, 200619 yr QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) I'll take the .300/30/100 he's on track for every year. So very, very glad we re-signed him. That's fine by me.
August 27, 200619 yr He'll probably wind up around 35 barring a real hot streak. And it's well worth the $.
August 28, 200619 yr If you gets 40, great. I just hope he doesn't start swinging for the fences every time up.
August 28, 200619 yr i'm going to take under also, and i'm cool with that. when he is not swinging for the fences he is actually a pretty decent hitter. he will get his share of homers naturally.
August 28, 200619 yr I think that he will hit under 40, i think he will hit 35 HR's this year. Edited August 28, 200619 yr by sayitaintso
August 28, 200619 yr Definitely under. Mid-30's. BTW, I believe that I was one of the few people who predicted that Thome wouldn't reach 50 this year.
August 28, 200619 yr QUOTE(WCSox @ Aug 28, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) Definitely under. Mid-30's. BTW, I believe that I was one of the few people who predicted that Thome wouldn't reach 50 this year. I guess many of us didn't forsee him hitting about 5 total homers in the second half.
August 28, 200619 yr QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) I guess many of us didn't forsee him hitting about 5 total homers in the second half. FWIW, I predicted something like 46 or 47, so I was way off as well. There was no way he'd stay on that pace for the entire season. Even without the minor injury problems, 50 was still a lot to expect. That said, he's already surpasses my expectations, so God bless him.
