SABR Sox Posted September 5, 2006 Share Posted September 5, 2006 Just hit his 45th homer of the season. He now has 45 long ones and 40 strikeouts. Only 10 times in ML history a player has ended up with more HR's than times struck out. Can he accomplish this feat? I say yes. Thoughts? Punch and Judy Garland Posted September 7, 2006 Share Posted September 7, 2006 Normally I'd say now because one bad day against a tough pitcher could ruin it on a day when he doesn't feel his best but he's made it so damn far and through such a debilitating injury for a slugger that I think he probably will do it now. It's a fun stat like when Schilling went for more wins than walks (came up short I believe). If I recall wasn't Joe D really good at this particular rate? Silva kind of did it I guess.. 9 wins and 9 walks. He would of easily beaten it if it wasnt for how horrible the twins offense was last year.
