Dissapointed. I am hoping that it is a bullpen thing. I desperately want to believe it because we'll need him next year in the rotation. He is flat out not good right now. Also dissapointed BA is slumping again, but that shouldn't be a huge surprise.

The disappointing thing to me about McCarthy is that not only are his results bad, but his stuff is medicore on the mound right now. He's in the Garcia mode where I don't have a clue how he gets guys out.

I'd just like to point out my own observation: I know a few of you have been down on Thome of late for his lack of homers/"clutch hitting" but, IMO, he's been VERY key for us in terms of getting important walks. I can recall a couple times he's taken a walk in a close game with a man on first, putting that player in scoring position for a single after, and it's paid off a ton.

i agree, i don't think people appreciate what Jim did for us in the begining of the season.

Profundo kills the inning....

There's 3 Count, go get 'em.

when was 2?

He hit a go-ahead homer off of Contreras at the Cell last year. I think Kevin Walker then blew a lead we had later in the game.

His OBP is outstanding. He has had trouble against lefties, but he should at least still be batting 3rd against righties. Get Dye some more ABs with baserunners.

This game's going fast. I like it when Contreras deals.

So yah, we better win tonight. As a Skins fan and Sox fan, the football game and the Twins game have crushed this night.

Cmon Jose!

come one boys lets make this a non save situation and see if the real bobby jenks is back

Thome's OBP is great, but my point is, he doesn't HAVE to homer to be an influence on our games. He's been great in every sense for us.

Washington lost?

Pretty big inning for Contreras here.

The tiger fans have to be crapping forks these days. 2 games ahead of the twinks and hopefully 3 up only on us.

More f***ing runs please, more runs.

His inability to contribute against lefty pitchers has really hurt us lately.

Is there a problem? If so, I have no problem talking to you about in with PM's. A game thread is no place for it.

Hi8is post was dripping with sarcasm. As yours is probably.

My sarcasm meter is so off with working 2 shifts at work these past 2 weeks.
