anyone else worried that thome might be mediocre next year?

I'm not sure if he'll be mediocre....but I think he's going to have to be very lucky to match his numbers from this year.

Hopefully he'll work just as hard this offseason as he did last offseason.

im thinking along the lines of 270, 30, 100. not mediocre, but mediocre by thome standards.

I hope Ozzie gets up Thornton or MacDougal in the pen.

He needs to have a great winter. Rest up, get healthy. That will be the best thing for him.

It might not be the worst idea for next year to give Thome 1, 2 days off a week. Keep him fresh for the whole season.

I would love for the Sox to get a righty bat for the bench who they can play against the tough lefties like C.C., Santana, etc. (even though Thome's done well vs Santana this year).

You know...back when we had Ordonez/Thomas, any time they'd walk Thomas to get to Ordonez, you just knew Magglio was going to crush the ball solely because he didn't like being shown up by the intentional walk.

Ordonez and Thomas has nice line drive swings. Ordonez and Thomas hit the ball gap to gap. Its hard to beat that with RISP.

Thome is Rob Deer, pull and lift and hope for the carry. He may dong you, but more often than not he will K or popup.

It probably wouldn't have been a bad idea to just pencil in a day off per week for Thome this season, but we didn't do it.

The only guy we give that much rest to is our center fielder...cause you know, we're gonna dominate winterball.

Obviously Fox Sports crew, its not about did we win, its about do they have it on tap is what Ozzie is worried about.

We lost, bartender pour me a cold one.

Bradley is a huge batter in this game.

Come on Javy...man up against the big guy.

Frank Thomas is pretty good.

Vazquez and the 6th inning. What a mental midget.

2 runs scored 2 runs given back

2 runs scored 2 runs given back

expected

CAN WE PLEASE START PULLING JAVY VAZQUEZ AFTER THE 5TH INNING!!!!!!!

Ok...that one wasn't a ton Vazquez's fault...that one is all Frank Thomas.

Jim Thome....that's how you pick your team up.

It was still a hanger. I don't like how Sandy called for Javy's worst pitch against their most dangerous hitter.

It fooled him quite a bit, and he adjusted to it mid-swing. He's just that good.

Good grief, get this headcase out of the game!!!!!!

Why can't Dye have the success against Oakland that Thomas has had against us?

In the backdrop of the comments our organization has made towards Frank, it's only fitting he'd kill us. Another embarrassment this team has provided us.

Cotts is warming up? What in the hell is going on in our dugout?

Lol even the announcers were like we have no clue how he hit that one out with that swing... some times you guys need to learn to give credit to the hitters. Especially future HoF's.

The good news is that Neil Cotts up.
