Podsednik leads off the bottom of the 5th, works a decently long at bat, then grounds out to teh shortstop.

The Ranger is in the booth.

Erstad flies out to left.

Thome takes a walk, and stays in the game.

Thome to 2nd on a WP. When is the last time we actually hit a home run in an A game?

it's a valid point. Mark Grant, the color guy for the Padres, says pitching in Tucson is like "pitching on the moon."

Similar terrain and vegetation, too.

At least Jenks has been consistent this spring.

Jenks gets ahead of Durham 0-2, then hits a ball over a diving Erstad in CF. De La Rosa scores. 7-3 Giants.

I think you can say that about our entire pitching staff.

Bill Lee would have pitched good on the moon.

Wild pitch by Jenks, runner moves up to 3rd.

Klesko strikes out swinging on a fastball.

Chopper by LInden into CF. Run scores. 8-3 Giants.

Niekro hits first pitch on ground to Iguchi. inning over, 3 runs scored.

How many PB and WP was that from Jenks in one inning???

That is worrisome.

Either 2 or 3.

AJ leads off with a lazy ground ball.

Where are those grinder ground balls when you need them?

Iguchi strikes out on a foul tip.

Cintron lines a single into LF.

I would like to see our non 3-4-5 hitters get a better approach and make contact more. Put the f***ing ball in play, maybe something good can happen.

With the earlier tightness, I believe its all a sign of an injury.

Toby Hall with a lazy groundout.

Jenks still in.

I was hoping otherwise. But I am starting to wonder if there is something to that.

Anyone know how Bobby threw in spring last year?

First batter, think it was Alfonzo, flies out to RF.

Sh*tty. 6.55 ERA, 1.73 WHIP, 5 k's.

Santos doubles over Podsednik's head. Oh, and Frandsen made an out, somehow.

He was in the low 90s, not impressive at all. He did pick it up a bit once the season began, but they blamed most of it on his being out of shape. No one really says anything about it, but Jenks post ASB ERA was a DFA's Shingoesque number.

You can have tightness and not have an injury.

Farmer is pointing to his mechanics. If he isnt driving towards the plate and flying open, he will leave the ball high, lose some velocity and get rocked. Its what Marte did a bunch of times.

And he was 7.71 ERA in 2005 ST, I just saw. Looks like he just never pitches well in ST. Must be slow to get loose.

To be totally fair...that was in 2.1 innings.

Enough of the Terrero experiment. I would rather see how Brian plays against people more than say this guy.
