Sabathia leaves game with injury

Featured Replies

apparently he got hit on his pitching arm with a line drive on his second pitch of the game. no details yet, they just mentioned it on the radio out here.

Wow. For once it's not his fault.

I never wish upon injuries on anyone, but it would nice not to face him opening day since he basically dominates us every time. First Lee, now Sabathia, Indians are sure not having good luck to start the year. We now may see Prancer leading off opening day. :(

The Prancer will likely be starting on Opening Day no matter who the starting pitcher is. Do you really think Ozzie is going to sit his boy on opening day because there's a lefty on the mound? He lead off last year with Sabathia on the mound and I assume he'd do the same this year as well.

Ozzie's been saying for a month now that Ozuna will start on opening day.

Perhaps I should start listening a bit more when he speaks.

Are you sure he wasn't just trying to fire up Pods with such a comment? He likes to say one thing and mean another. I thought we weren't supposed to believe anything he says?

If you did you'd think Brian Anderson was starting in CF.

On one hand, good news for our Sox.

On the other hand, bad news for a few of my fantasy teams.

Careful there.... :P

Haven't seen it yet....anyway you can link that, or is it premium?

Why would Eric Wedge start him? He could get injured...

hey fathom i'll pm you the white sox part

CC expects to be ready for opening day.

Cleveland Indians ace C.C. Sabathia expects to be ready for Opening Day despite a bruised left forearm.

"I'm pitching Monday," Sabathia said. "The swelling has gone down. I feel pretty good. I'm pretty excited."

You wanna be the best, you gonna have to beat the best, at their best...

Wait.......

This doesn't surprise me. This spring training has been frustrating, and Sabathia's absence from the Indians rotation would indicate something positive -- which is impossible.

I'm still hoping beyond hope the Indians feel starting him Monday isn't worth the risk.

Or that he does start and shouldn't be, further aggravating the injury.

CC threw 50 pitches in a bullpen session today, ate a cheeseburger, and pronounced himself ready to go for Monday.

The Score just reported that he'll be ready Monday.
