April 24, 200718 yr Egbert sounds like a similar pitcher to Webb from what I have read... hope he can pitch like him when he makes the bigs.

Webb's G/F was 3x greater than Egbert's G/F last season. And bringing in such a good defensive second baseman in Orlando Hudson was really a big reason in Webb's stellar season last year. Shows how important it is to have a good defense if you have a lot of groundball pitchers, which I think is the Sox's plan for most of the young pitching they're developing. Guys like Egbert sort of fit that mould anyway.

Also it's probably good for Cunningham to build up some momentum, get his confidence up so he earns that promotion to B-Ham, instead of him starting the season there and possibly not hitting the ball as well as he is now due to the higher level and tougher ballpark to hit in. I don't think he'll be down in W-S for too long either though.
