SHould have kept the mojo going with yesterday's line up for a second day. With Molina (assuming he exists) replacing A.J.'s red hot bat, we have aready lost.

Sweeney and Molina back-to-back is a deadly combo.

Not sure what you really could have expected though.

 

I just don't know how KW can sit back and think this lineup is acceptable. I'm sure he'll say he's shocked when Thome and Pods try to return and either aren't as effective due to overcoming the injury or they re-injure themselves right away.

Molina is going 4 for 4 today with 5 homers. He will homer twice in one at bat. Then Ozzie will put him back on the bench for the rest of the year.

Only if we Terrero DH'ing. We could have the best 7-8-9 hitter trio ever thinkable.

You add Thome, AJP and Uribe to that lineup and its still pretty deadly, its too bad for injuries and a day off for our catcher.

 

The problem is you can't assume that Hall will be able to return to catching...so you can't play AJ every single game.

 

If Hall is a DH against lefties (to rest Thome), you still need to rest AJ somehow.

 

The unfortunate thing is that it looks likely we'll be 5 GB after today, heading into a showdown at Minnesota (where we apparently won't face Santana, finally a break). CLE and DET are both going to win their games.
